Bro, you have to turn the physical lens. You don't have to play with the settings to get sharp image. The problem is that your image is not well focused. The only way to fix it is to turn around the lens and find the perfect focal length. It ranges from a few centimeters to infinity. So, the webcam actually covers quite a long range but not limited to close-up.
Thanks Mr.LKM for your reply. Ya I know how to change the focus by turning the physical lens. I'm dissapointed because the image quality is just so-so compared to my cap ayam 1.3MP webcam. Moreover, the focus is ONLY equally good as my cap ayam webcam when I use the Philips SPC900NC webcam with the Vlounge software. Other webcam softwares like Cyberlink Power Director, webcammax, K3CCD and VH Multicam Studio, the quality of the image captured by Philips SPC900NC is blurred and bad and this rules out the possibilty of using the Philips SPC900NC webcam for a picture in picture video shooting with other webcams. There is no such problem with the laptop's built-in Acer Crystal Eye webcam and also my Cap Ayam 1.3MP webcam which I bought for RM50+ in 2006. I think the problem lies with the Vista Driver. For a webcam that is touted to be the World's Best when I bought it at lelong.com for a clearance price of RM153, it is dissapointing.

Acer phase out models very fast ma .. around 2-3months they considered the model phase out. But to dealers they still have stock and there is grace period of a few months for dealer to sell it off. So its normal if Acer does not preview it on the ads.
But it always seems like the later you buy a new laptop, the better the specs will be. If anyone couldn't get this, just wait for an even better deal. My 2cents But hey, Mr.LKM is selling ler....check it out http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?act=ST&f...0#entry24653507
