2.Dont even think about a RM 2199 laptop can give u a superior graphic,,,act it is just best graphic card build in for
  laptop below RM2500..

  I am a user for 4730zg,,, smile.gif

Correct. If RM2199 can beat RM3000+ laptop in games, then it won't be RM2199 or it'd been sold out long ago. Just think this as best spec/cheap price laptop.

I don't know how Acer phase out their laptop but I can tell you there aren't any reviews on 4730ZG when I joined this thread (before buying). So maybe Acer does phase out their laptops.

Apart from my dissatisfaction with the LCD blacklight bleeding. (My desktop LCD is S-IPS panel and have some bleeding as well), it is doing well for office work. Gaming reviews you have to ask from other owners.

Ditto to the gpu performance comments. It is not powerful and plays crysis at high details with full aa. Yet it serves me well on casual gaming (counter strike) with less noticed framerate drop. Btw, anyone can tell me where can I tweak the gpu? The acer supplied ati catalyst seems only allow me to change the colour and screen width ratios sweat.gif

hey i've recently installed a software called advanced systemcare which monitors your computer system, registry and fixes them.

one thing that bugs me is that the software displayed my available ram as only 3gigs (3096mb to be exact) instead of the 4gigs of ram which showed up on the system window at the control panel.

can someone tell me wth is going on? hmm.gif

This is because Vista 32bit is only capable of handling 3gig of ram maximum. Only the 64bit can utilize all 4gig of memory. Even the specs mentioned you have 4gig of ram but Vista will use 3gig as that is the maximum limit. Try Ctrl-Alt-Del and look at the memory resource, it also uses only 3gig for ram.

I did notice that the system shows that the total physical memory is 3GB and total installed memory is 4GB. The other 1GB I thought is probably allocated to the Video Card. And after I read this: Dude, Where's my 4GB of RAM?, maybe I was wrong about the Video RAM allocation after all sad.gif

If you are on a budget btw 2k to 2.5k for an average gaming lappy,
this model I can say is the best value for money lappy at the moment. smile.gif

Likewise.

Having asked all the available laptops brands during PC fair, this model is higher on the best value for money scale right now. Apart from the specs, it tags along with a 3 year warranty and vista premium (usually you'll get vista basic).

Some Compaq models are cheaper in price but it comes with lesser spec and you'll have to install your own OS.
