Thanks for the heads-up. Are there any other reputable engineering private institutes in Malaysia? Will be applying with A levels.

Oh by the way, what does the '10' mean on 'prerequisites '?
*
That means the minimum score you should get in your A-levels is a B-C-C.
You get 5 points for an A, 4 for a B, you get the rest.

And by the way, if you're pretty certain you want to take up an engineering course and you're pretty sure you're gonna do it here or in Australia, you may want to look at Australian Matriculation or Monash University Foundation Year (MUFY) since they are 1 year courses as compared to the 18 months of A levels.

I myself took A levels, and have no regrets whatsoever about taking it, except now I'm one semester behind people that took the 1 year foundation courses.
And just in case you're wondering, you can still apply to other non-Australian universities even if you take Australian Matriculations or MUFY, no doubt about it.

The thing is, I'm kinda interested in universities from UK/Hongkong/Singapore that offer engineering courses. Yes, I know Ausmat/SAM allows students to gain entry to non-Aussie universities but the scholarships priorities are given to A-levels students right? No offence to Ausmat students.

By the way, I plan to pursue a career in aeronautical engineering in Monash or RMiT but the fees will definitely pull a strain on my parents' wallet.

Actually, the scholarships depend on the respective universities themselves. For Monash, each of the various qualifications have their own minimum requirement in order to qualify for the entrance scholarships. i.e for A-levels you need at least 3A's, for Ausmat the minimum could be 99.5 or something.
Other than the entrance scholarship, you could still try for their merit scholarships.

March and July are the usual intakes as far as I know.
I heard this year business students won't be able to go for the exchange program. Not sure why.

The results will be given only to the person who's name is enrolled in Monash. In fact, even if your parents are to go over there to demand for your results, their request will not be entertained.

But do take note that this can be abused too.

Hi all,

Anyone here who's in the MSc or Preliminary MSc course???
How's the professors and lecturers? Mind giving your opinions on this?

I'm currently deciding whether to apply for it so any feedback would be appreciated.

Are you transferring from the Sunway campus?
If so, can go to student center and ask for application forms.
Then just fill in the form and pass back to the staffs at the student center along with your results.
Do take note that the requirements (base on results) to transfer to Clayton and Caufield campus are a little stricter than the other campuses in Aussie.
For more information you can actually ask the staffs at student center ^^; they offer a lot of help when I am applying for mine some years back.
Hope that helps~

i transferred from sunway to the clayton campus for my second year, early this february (2009).

i'm currently doing bachelor of commerce (0179) and hence if you do require any information, help, clarification et cetera, please not hesitate to ask (either PM me or Ping! (ID name: nokia2003) if you are an iPhone or iPod touch user) and i will endeavor to clear your reservations. i'm also more than happy to answer non-academic questions.

my brother is too, residing in clayton (engineering) and should you have any questions with regard to that degree, i can direct them to him, for you.

i have been so bogged down with my internship, that i hardly ever got time to patronise LYN anymore cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif

hope to see you guys in australia, the next academic year! nod.gif nod.gif nod.gif

Hey mates. I'm back in Msia from Australia.

Problem is, My Samsung F480 can't be used coz its from "3" and so... how do i deal with it?

Friends said call or go to "3" and unlock it before getting back to Msia. Yeah. Thats a big help. Doh, I'm already BACK!

So, they said go to "3"s website which I did, but theres nothing about phone unlocking.

Any experts in this area? I really need that phone, I got no other phone here.

Thanks mate.

your best bet is to ring "3"'s customer service.

unlocking can be done remotely and i'm pretty sure "3" can help you with regard to that.
