a lot of the peeps in oz have already completed the installation.

and some had some troubles activating their officially unlocked units, due to the heavy traffic.

just unplug your USB and re-attempt the activation process again.

activation requires a stable and secure connection to the apple database, to make sure that it is actually unlocked.

please remember that you can cancel the excruciating and long initial backup process (yes it will be very long), if you are anxious to try out the new OS 3.0

installing now... hopefully everything going smooth

so guys for the carrier setting, i think we need to wait for maxis release it and for forumer to upload it. because for tethering and also mms, i think need carrier setting..

When you restore ANYTHING , ur jb is gone

and there is no official jb for 3.0 >_> .

Hmm somehow i waited 30 min for the direct download
iPhone1,2_3.0_7A341_Restore.ipsw

but double click it goes to Itune i click update or Restore, it activated and initiate another download which have to wait 30 minutes. Anyone had this problem ?

my phone shows the usb cable ask to connect to itunes.. i did. but itunes cant recognise my phone

They will have the caller id programmed into the iphone itself.

what model are you using iphone3G or iphone '??

manually cancel the updates .
then press shift + restore n restore the iPhone1,2_3.0_7A341_Restore.ipsw u downloaded

try to restore again. maybe it will help, anyway the firmware you use is for the phone you use right? i mean for 2G use 2G firmware and so on.
