QUOTE(StygianInDepth @ Mar 30 2009, 12:52 PM) @eXyzt Oh yeah, Rijkaard can also.If you're talking about attacking football and youth developments how about Frank Rijkaard. Among the lots he's the most suitable imho. QUOTE(moomoojojo @ Mar 30 2009, 01:19 PM) agree with u StygianInDepth but foster seems want to leave man u if he dun get into 1st 11...seems hard for him to become england 1st choice if he's always n man u bench...hard to find long term future now..but he's the 1...got prospect n treasure for man u team..huhu I'm sure he's ambitious. Just hope he'll see the benefits of staying at MU like O'Shea & Fletcher. If he stays, he'll definitely take the no. 1 jersey in a few years time. VDS isn't going to be around much longer and Kuzczak is not good enough to be no. 1 IMO. |

I believe SAF won't retire for this few season unless he got any health problem, to find his successor is a tough task, O'Neill might fit well into his role, his coaching style is almost the same like SAF

QUOTE(r i k h a i @ Mar 30 2009, 08:04 PM) Only Rio who had a groin & back injury and was not risked against Slovakia.Rio - see above CR, Vidic, Rooney, Evra, JOS, Evans, Fletcher - 90min Tevez - 70min Foster - 45min Carrick - 16min Nani, Gibson - Unused sub Anderson - not on bench(?) Park - ?min Neville nearing full fitness QUOTE Gary Neville could hand Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson a timely boost ahead of the must-win clash against Aston Villa by declaring himself fit. The 34-year-old is set to appear for the club's second string against Newcastle on Monday as he bids to come back from his latest injury setback. Ferguson is already without fellow right backs Rafael da Silva and Wes Brown, while John O'Shea's confidence seems to have taken a pummelling after the club's back to back Premier League defeats. The United skipper has had an injury plagued two years at Old Trafford with an ankle injury suffered in March 2007 keeping him out for the majority of last season. After a returning for the start of the current campaign Neville suffered further injury woe when he picked up a groin injury which sidelined him for two months. Neville recovered sufficiently to be named on the bench for the 2-0 defeat to Fulham last time out but must now prove his fitness from the start against the Magpies' reserves. The right-back is determined to be a part of United's title run in after missing out altogether last season as the club went on to secure the Premier League and UEFA Champions League crown. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_5121751,00.html This post has been edited by alien2003: Mar 30 2009, 10:42 PM |

Van Der Sar is 38 and Foster is only 25, assume Foster is first choice next season he still has 10 years ahead of him, Van Der Sar wont last till 40 imo. If I were him, i'd stay put and wait for my turn. Similiar to Almunia with Arsenal, after that old sod Jens Lehman left he's first choice now.@alien2003 Even if Gary Nev is at full fitness I dont think he's very usefull at his age now especially since he's out for so long. Everytime I see him play currently he only runs till the middle of the field and doesnt overlap wingers, doesnt have the stamina anymore. I'd prefer Brown playing RB while putting Rafeal on the bench assuming both of them not injured. Gary doesnt fit Manchester tactics anymore, he's not like Evra overlapping Giggs or Brown overlapping Ronaldo. He cant dribble to cut in opposition defence and he cant score any goals. Rather play him as a CB to cover Rio or Vida since there's only Evans as a CB sub. This post has been edited by StygianInDepth: Mar 30 2009, 11:14 PM |

Reserves: Newcastle 3 United 3
QUOTE Kiko Macheda's clinical hat-trick earned United a point as the Reds twice came from behind at St James' Park. A draw was the very least United deserved from a see-saw encounter which ebbed and flowed until the final minute of stoppage time, when Lee Martin could have taken all three points for the Reds. The result ends a run of three straight victories for United, but the pluck and guts on show in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's team - plus an hour of action for club captain Gary Neville - provided a gleaming silver lining on Tyneside. The first half was a relatively tight affair in which both sides converted penalties. Macheda slotted in for United after Claudio Cacapa had been penalised - perhaps a touch harshly - for handling the Italian's cross. If that decision was soft, the award of Newcastle's own spot-kick was bewildering. Xisco's attempt to head a cross was slightly impeded by a combination of Neville and Ritchie De Laet, and the Spaniard's half-hearted appeals incredibly met with reward. Xisco duly stroked the kick past substitute goalkeeper Conor Devlin, who had made a stunning reaction save from Cacapa's shot inside the six-yard box just moments earlier. The Irishman had earlier replaced Ron-Robert Zieler, who had injured his right arm. The Reds could have retaken the lead almost immediately. Cameron Stewart fired Matty James' pass against a post, via a fine save from Fraser Forster, and then stabbed a subsequent cross over the bar. Within three minutes of the restart, however, United were behind as Jonny Godsmark pulled a cross into the six-yard box for Mark Doninger to slide home. The game lulled briefly as both teams drew breath, and Macheda superbly hauled United level again with 15 minutes remaining. Latching onto James' through-ball, the ice-cool striker rounded Forster and slotted between two Newcastle defenders for his second. Danny Guthrie fired home what looked to be a fine late winner for the hosts, lashing in from 25 yards after James had been dispossessed, but Macheda popped up in the final minute to slip home a left-footed finish and restore parity. United continued to rampage forward in search of a winner, and Martin was agonisingly close to turning in Magnus Eikrem's cross in the final minute of stoppage time. By that point Neville was long since showered, having been replaced by Reece Brown just before the hour-mark. Having dished out and received a few sturdy challenges, this was a worthwhile examination for the club captain, whose attentions now switch to Aston Villa's visit on Sunday. United: Zieler (Devlin 30); Neville (Brown 57), De Laet, Eckersley, Dudgeon; Stewart (Norwood 69), Possebon, James, Eikrem; Martin; Macheda. Subs not used: Galbraith, Wootton. ManUtd.com It was not Wes Brown. |

Depends on whether Foster is itching for playing time or not. Same situation with Howard. He wanted to play first team football which SAF couldn't give him coz VDS was there. So Howard left for Everton. |

If Fergie really want Foster to takeover as #1 then next season will be the time for Foster to start playing some league games regularly to get the much needed match experiences.
Next season might be VDS's last season as well so we might not want to take the risk of losing Foster and leave us with only Kuszczak as the backup. |
