Anderson was caught out of position quite a lot of time, Vidic did an uncharacteristic mistakes, Evra mistime a tackle.

No complain there, wouldn't say we deserve to be behind, but they took their chances better. Something like Arsenal game.

Both team play well, but is the team that take their chances that can make themselves count.

Hope we can pull back an early goal in d 2nd half. But a draw wouldn't be that bad also, just hope we don lose.

wtf is this, one mistake and you calling him zero. He has been saving us so many times this season. Same goes as Evra. Sometimes such thing happen. No one can play without mistakes for the whole damn season.

so? Even if we lose this match I still would prefer our position than to Liv one.

when we did lost, it serve as a trigger us to go on another winning run.

rooney should keep his mouth shut! 4-1 wat can he say more?
*
I actually agree on this part. Normally when a team starts to talk more about the other team, in this case Rooney on Liv. It'll make the player eat back the words

QUOTE(bob @ Mar 14 2009, 10:47 PM)
even if MU can win EPL ... l'pool still have a sweet smile for tonite matched
*
It's the title that counts. Arsenal did a double against us as well when we won the EPL title 2 years back. Remember my Ars friends teased me for that. So what? In the end I had the last laugh as Man Utd won the EPL which is the most important in the end.

QUOTE(boxsystem @ Mar 14 2009, 10:48 PM)
Okay, good match.

Why? Now we can filter those glory hunters out.

Sell Vida? No Giggs and Berba? What formation SAF?

Feck off all of you.

It's a good time for us to lose to wake up. We need to lose. Pool played much much better. Good lesson for Rooney for having his big mouth. Everyone is on top of their head before the match. We weren't like this last season.

Before the match, Vida said this. Rooney said that. Backfired. I figured that we would lose this one. This will make the lads realize and fired up for the league.
*
I agree with boxsystem. Now that we lose, everyone come in and bashed Man Utd for it. And well, some don't even existed when we were winning. Once we lose a game, all the knives are out. doh.gif

But based on the run-in to the final game, it seems we have the trickiest one out of all. Really hope this heavy lost serve as a wake up call to everyone in the squad, quashing aside that the EPL is ours.

I want our big game player Fletchinho back. It did surprise me that he didn't start. Carrick performance has been shaky this season. It's been some time (except the long ball delivery to Berba at FA cup) that we have seen him picking out the front line with his cross field pass. It's now either overhit or cut of by the defenders.

Yup, it's indeed funny. Wanted to keep it inside but feel perhaps I should let it out some of my thoughts. Just a couple weeks ago, I happen to read (i seldom go to other club's thread) some of the Liv fans are already giving up on the title and even supporting Che to chase us all the way since they think they can't as they just hated our club so much when they are actually same point as them.

Now 1 victory against Man Utd amid a big one, some of the fans (not saying all) is already talking about their title pursuit when they are the one that conceded before this. I always do think the title will not be decided until the fat lady sings, football is indeed unpredictable. Last season everyone was talking about Barca being champion when they were having a healthy lead at one time and see what happen. Man Utd also suffered some as well : eg against Arsenal.

But what I don't understand is this so called best fans in the world would be supporting Che when they are still mathematically possible for them to go all the way. And now they donned their Liverpool jersey singing YNWA. How ironic, and they calling us the lalang. Which makes me wonder, whether some of this "Livepool fans" is actually a fan of the team or just another ABU brigade.

PS : this opinion is entitled to some of the fans only, not saying all and definitely not to those in house residence, Kat and Duke.

Not to defend maxi or what. It's not right to quote other ppl post, but first of all, he did spoiler it knowing it might hurt some trolls who came along and open it to read. This is our thread, he spoilered it for our fans to have a comment about it. But sud a Liv fan trolled into the thread and being NBTD, open it up to read. And accuse us of digging out an old post to start it. And now all hell break loose and blamed maxi for it. But it all will not happen if he don't comment on it since it's been spoilered. I'm sure fyrekat will have just laugh upon it since he know it's our thread and we did warn some ppl with the spoiler.

If u think you owe him an explaination, that's what a PM is about. You are just pouring oil on fire. Everyone entitled to their opinion. The comments after that was just asking him to leave it alone and asking him to cool down.

I didn't say putting spoilers meant no one could read it. He spoilered it as it could be a warning to people that it could be offensive to some. If you don't like what you see can't you just leave it alone or perhaps PM him kindly to discuss with him. I'm pretty sure other's (eg : Fyrekat) would not make such a big fuss about it as they'll probably ignore it.

Manchester United confirm fixture switch

QUOTE
Manchester United will face a fixture pile-up as the Premier League title race reaches its conclusion after it was confirmed their encounter with Wigan Athletic at the JJB Stadium will be moved to Wednesday, May 13.

Sir Alex Ferguson: Tough road ahead

The league match was scheduled for the weekend of April 18 but was postponed because United must now tackle Everton in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley the following day.

United will now play Manchester City at Old Trafford, Wigan away and Arsenal at home in what could be a pivotal seven-day spell as the Premeir League champions atempt to defend their title.

In addition, if the European champions reach the semi-finals of the Champions League, it will result in five games in fourteen vital days.

United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has already railed against the match schedule this season and refused to talk to Sky Sports after his team's 4-1 thrashing by Liverpool because he was furious at having to kick-off at 12.45pm on a Saturday following a Wednesday night Champions League tie against Inter Milan.

Vidic lauds strength of the English game

QUOTE
Nemanja Vidic feels the Premier League can give itself a hefty pat on the back as four of its teams wait to discover their Champions League fate.

Once again the English quartet has made it through to the quarter-finals, with the odds on at least one of them making it to the final in Rome on May 27.

It would be the fifth time on the trot there has been top-flight representation in Europe's biggest club competition. And Vidic is in no doubt the Premier League has earned the right to call itself number one.

"The English league is the best," said the Manchester United defender. "The Premier League is stronger than anyone else in Europe now.

"Once again there are four teams in the quarter-finals. That has to be good for English football. It is good for the players to be involved in the English game."

Given the widely publicised unhappiness UEFA president Michel Platini has at the dominance of English teams, conspiracy theorists wonder whether tomorrow's last-eight draw might consign all four teams to the same section, ensuring there is no repeat of the all-English showdown in Moscow last season, when United beat Chelsea on penalties.

The Londoners would certainly relish the opportunity of revenge over Sir Alex Ferguson's men, who are also aware Arsenal have a victory at the Emirates this season to fall back on, while Liverpool blitzed them at Old Trafford last weekend.

Not that the other four potential opponents are exactly unknown to United.

The Red Devils have met Villarreal four times in the past four seasons - with not a goal in sight for either side - and FC Porto, with Jose Mourinho as manager, dumped them out of the 2004 competition.

In addition, Barcelona were beaten in last season's semi-final and Bayern Munich have a special place in United's history as the team on the wrong end of that stunning last-gasp triumph in 1999.

Sir Alex Ferguson has already revealed his gut feeling that United will draw English opposition in the knock-out stages for the first time.

And Vidic realises he may not be adding to his air miles this time around.

"There is a chance we could play another English team," he said. "It is three from seven, so the odds are quite good. Whoever we play will be difficult because they are all top teams now.

"We know that any team we play, we will need to give our best."

Oh yes, the UCL fever is back with the draw. But snap back to reality guys. That's is the least of our concern now guys, for now Fulham match is more important than Porto. Let's take it 1 match at a time, talking about us in the final is distance away. Why not focus on our next opponent first.

Fulham must feel gutted being thrashed at home last time around in FA Cup, and will be surely preparing for a backlash. The midfield will be the key. Now that we had 1 week of rest after god know's when, we should play our strongest 11 to try to get an early goal to settle the nerves after our confidence being shattered by the Liv defeat

At least there'll be a 2 weeks break till our next EPL game, hope the player will bounce back after 2 back to back defeat. A defeat to any opposition does hurt but we have to get on with it. Villa ain't an easy opponent to pick on since they are on the mission of getting to UCL as well. Not to mention that 48 hours later we'll have a UCL match. Indeed a squeeky bum time ahead. March fixtures is over, April is next. And let's hope for a better month ahead.

The talk of getting a quadruple/quintuple is getting too hype, I sincerely hope the players won't even think about it except the next game we are playing. Still remember the last time the talk about it during season 05/06, we ended up with the League Cup only. Hope history won't repeat itself. Any chances of complacency must be dismissed straight.

No point wishing other teams to drop points if we ourselves do not earn it. EPL is all about consistency and the team that wins it proves it. If we can't win the title *touchwood*, we only have ourselves to blame for dropping too much points, same goes with Liverpool who must be cursing the drop points during Jan and Feb if they didn't manage to lay their hands on the title.

With our fixtures piling up and anxiety, tiredness crept in, we'll have to crawl ourselves to the finishing line. Our final fixtures run in seems tough as well, hope the players can pull themselves together and give a last final dash to the title now that it's only 2 months, and approximately 13-16 games left. I think Arsenal is the team that might decide the title since they still need to play against the top 3.

I really wished Hargraeves is here this time of the season. Last season around this part of the season he found his form. Not to mention he'll bring more option to the team with his ability to play as CM, RM, RB, would have ease our squad slightly. Not to mention, his set pieces which i think much more accurate than Ronaldo's one. Still prefer the Beckham curl style rather than Ronaldo rocket blast.

that's what happen if we push too much men forward for the equaliser, there's a time there's only 1 defender - Evra is there. The rest was all after the half way line. They were eyeing on that counter attack oppurtunity, and unfortunately they did had 1 and capitalised on it. That proves to be the decisive goal and send shock to our system. Clearly Rooney was frustrated as well hence the rash throw back of the ball. Personally i think he deserve in for reacting that way. People might argue he send the ball back but I don't think so he did or else he won't throw it that hard considering the short distance. But that doesn't mean I agree he was aiming for the referee, it was some distance away from him.

The title race is on alright, we always like to do it the hard way ey! Liv is on form with the pairing of Torres and Gerrard, they are the heart and pulse of the team.

Hopefully with this slight international break, can stop their momentum slightly and also give us some time to pull ourselves together.

Now our goal difference is slightly behind both Che and Liv. But that is also because we are 1 game behind. It'll be tight indeed with perhaps GD to split the team at the end of the season

It's obvious that fella know nuts about football, that's why I also didn't bother when you liv fans have a slight dig with him. But again, this is getting uncontrollable already. And as senior in football thread, can't believe you liverpool fans will be ignite by such a laughable comment. And i thought you always branded Man Utd fans as him, knowing nuts about football but trying to support the winning team.

And then another joker came and declare he is a fan of both liv and Man Utd doh.gif with them being such an intense rivalry. Remind me of a forummer name ManLivArs last time around, but didn't show up anymore

I don think it's fair that you leave Che out as well, we all know they tend to fight until the end. And I also highlighted the potential banana skins for both teams as well and seems ours one is more sweat.gif

That doesn't mean the rest of our opponent is easy fixtures though, I only highlighted the higher risk one

England : Carrick, Ferdinand, Rooney, Foster

who else is reporting for international duty?

Ronaldo, Nani, Vidic, Evra, Tosic, O'Shea? How about our Asian and South American player?
