hmm... for that price i would prefer Dell Studio 15 instead (in terms of spec)... but Asus wins in warranty (yes, Asus standard give 2 yrs int'l warranty)

My Budget is RM4.5k~RM9k, as i always opt for reliable. Usually, I only consider changed of machine if it is too old, damanged or stolen. on average every machine i can use it for >3 years.

I use it for daily job routines .... No for gaming...

anything that supports XP.

2. Budget.
rm2000 - rm3000(+/-)

3. Specs.
able to do video rendering, no 3D stuff, just motion graphics
flash,photoshop,illustrator,indesign capable(smooth)
-3gb ram
-duo core (AMD preffered)
-wifi-n
-sd card reader
-firewire(if possible)
-min 300gb hdd space


4. Size.
15-17inch...
not so big of a widescreen fan(if possible)

well, for laptops it's better to stick with Intel... they provide the best performance and power efficiency...

so far AMD Turion only appear in the budget laptops only... like Compaq CQ40...

performance and power efficiency wise, Intel wins hands down...

talking abt performance:price ratio, AMD seems to ve an upper hand in the budget market, especially since it has the advantage of ATi graphic...

well, i dun ve much experience with business laptops...

some of the models u can look at are HP Compaq series, Dell Latitude series, Lenovo Thinkpad series or Acer Extensa series...

some may prefer Sony instead, but well, not a fan of Sony... tongue.gif

need laptop recommendation here.budget rm4k+/- max possible is 4.5k

need 1 which have reliable hardware,warranty,can game well or decently
,wont go too hot in a long-run,and hav good mobility

currently im eye-ing the dell studio xps 16.any better 1s to recommend?(yea i noe the studio xps 16 is heavy but i can get a bag for it)

@zeniticX, +1 for S57 is you wanna save money, and its a 15.6" so smaller.
but between Asus and Acer i would go for the Asus N50

well, S57 is probably the only laptop in MY market with HD 4650...
