Hi
need help deciding which one to buy
my budget is around rm1800
i have these 2 in my mind

compaq CQ40-512AU for rm1.5k (offer in tesco till this wednesday)
Acer 4535 for rm1879 (with 2gb ram)

Its for light to moderate game(low end game of course)
wireless internet
college assignment

Im very inclined with that compaq since its very cheap and almost the same spec with the acer
Can the compaq install windows XP? how about heat management?
The acer one have a lot of area where heat can escape
please advice thanks

depends on wat u re looking for...

Studio 15 has slightly better graphic performance, option of higher resolution monitor, and Dell's good warranty...

U80V is smaller and lighter, has longer better life, and default 2yrs int'l warranty...

am looking for best for value and also the availability and ease of spare part and servicing. I am staying at kuching sarawak btw. wink.gif Any advice sifu astria? notworthy.gif

I want a laptop which has affordable spare part and servicing and does not need to go that far to service in case the laptop got problem. Example like NEC or Fujitsu maybe will have to send direct to Japan lol. That is what i assume la. I know dell and asus also need send to kl for servicing but that is ok with me. Just don't wanna buy laptop with expensive replacement parts and have to send overseas for repair. That what i concern. smile.gif

Can somebody recommend me a laptop having these specs:

1. CPU : Fast (more than 2.1 GHz)
2. 14" or 13.1"
3. Portable, lightweight and Sturdy enough to be carried around all the time
4. Long battery life
5. Has a fairly good graphics card
6. Price : Around RM3k to RM4k

I'll need it for my office use, where I'll be using engineering programs to do a lot of CPU intensive calculations & modelling. Need it to be light & sturdy to carry around to meetings and such.

Also, need the graphics card for future use. May be used for 3D modelling in the future.
