Looking for a laptop/notebook for my sister.. her requirements were high.. @_@

1. Any brand, except Dell, BenQ and Lenovo.
2. Anything under RM4,000.
3. At least 2 GB RAM, DVD Combo Drive, decent graphics card (can play high-end 3D games and watch movies on it), Windows XP preferable.
4. At least 17" screen.

Thanks in advance.
*
wow ... u mean 17" ?? she put at home oni ??
coz for 17 inch is kinda expensive ... ~ at least 5 to 6 k ...
for below 4k .. i think asus f8vr or x59sr might be good for her ... ~

CQ40-402AX - is this laptop okay? Anyone of you face any problem for this laptop?

Might purchase it during the hp warehouse sales.
I have acer laptop and I really have terrible experience with it, I will never look at  acer anymore.

Budget is around 2.5k but it can boost up to 3k...i'm some how targeting lenovo thinkpad or IdeaPad Y450. However, thinkpad is either too cheap or too expansive, i cant find the balances. ThinkPad SL400 spec is too slow. but others like R400 is quite expansive.....
*
why dont u take the asus k40in which using p7350 . and 4gb ram and 320gb hdd .. plus vista home premium ..
jz rm 2799 only ~

Can somebody recommend me a laptop having these specs:

1. CPU : Fast (more than 2.1 GHz)
2. 14" or 13.1"
3. Portable, lightweight and Sturdy enough to be carried around all the time
4. Long battery life
5. Has a fairly good graphics card
6. Price : Around RM3k to RM4k

I'll need it for my office use, where I'll be using engineering programs to do a lot of CPU intensive calculations & modelling. Need it to be light & sturdy to carry around to meetings and such.

Also, need the graphics card for future use. May be used for 3D modelling in the future.

asus u80v , or dv4 1412tx will do ^^ ~

Would like to ask again.. since I got recommendations from here to get U80V or S42..

It seems like I don't need such a high powered graphics card, only something with dedicated Ati or Nvidia graphics card would do.

But, I do need a very fast processor, more than 2.53 GHz would be nice.

So, I'll list down my new requirements:

1. CPU - Equal or Faster than 2.53 GHz
2. Size - 14" or 13"
3. Graphics - Entry level dedicated ATI (maybe 4330 or 4530?) or Nvidia
4. Good battery life
5. Sturdy and light to carry around
6. Price - Less than RM4k. The cheaper it is, the better

Lots of options would be nice. Need to recommend to my boss first.

still vote for s 42 ^^
