I'm not into gaming at all. Buying a laptop for assignments (3dmax, Cad, Photoshop, etc etc). Meh... the laptop vendor said the satellite was the best deal...

I checked the price for Asus F81Se and M900

F81Se = RM3788
M900 = RM3699

iirc F81Se Special Edition (C2D P8700) sells for rm3599... hmm.gif

and the C2D P8600 is rm3699 (yes, it's rm100 more expensive, not the other way round...)

u can PM Perfect Stranger for more detail...

or if u dun mind 15", Dell Studio 15...

My family is bias about dell (my older bro made them cause he had lots of problems with his). Is dell really worth it? Cause if it is, then I'll try to convince my parents to get it.

The one in the flyer is P8600 for RM3788...

But overall it's better if I went for the asus is it?

well, when comes to warranty, no one can beat Dell... they are probably the only 1 that provide on-site service... for consumer laptops at least...

if u really dun want Dell, then yeah, others like Asus F81Se, BenQ S42 would be ur next best option...

I guess I'll go for asus then...

Honestly I really wanted Asus N50 but it got sold out Q_Q

Thanks for all the help! I shall go around PCfair tomorrow and hopefully won't be conned into buying something worse.

Oh but wait, as for the processor, going for the P8700 is better than P8600?

imho, before blaming the laptop, blame the user... most of the time, the user dun take good care of the laptop, thus causing problems...

i ve had good experience with Compaq... got an old one 3/4 yrs already (Pentium M era... laugh.gif), never spoil at all...

as for Acer, well, it's cheap, but not to the pt that it's really THAT cheap...

Dell, strong in warranty... if u dun like the hassle of taking a laptop to svc center to repair, Dell offers on-site service...

for me, i would probably pick Compaq CQ40 with AMD Turion x2 and HD3450... gud enuf for everyday use + a little of games + HD movies...

iirc it's abt the same price... overall it's weaker than the AMD setup, but it wins in battery life and temperature...

3k and hardcore games dun mix...

try Dell Studio 15... no, it's not gonna allow u to play new games at highest settings... but that's the best u can get for rm3k...
