errr....if urs is a official NZ unit, there is no need to use software unlock aka yellowsnow.
And it is official NZ unit, u can update it straight from iTunes at anytime

I charge my iPhone everyday as well, and i make less than 2 calls/day and less than 10sms/day. But I do use internet for maybe about an hour a day via 3G. ur battery seems normal smile.gif

with really heavy gaming, mine only lasts for 1/2 day. If you want a higher capacity battery, you might want to upgrade to a lithium polymer battery. DIYing will void your warranty tho.

there were replies on that saying that its kinda shady

That sounds shady and furthermore sounds like a warranty nightmare.

Damn right it's shady. Google "tradekey" and you'll see how many "scam" ones pop up tongue.gif

Guys,

I just got my iPhone today. I've been fooling around on the 3G data a bit, but ... it's slow, man. Is maxis 3g just really slow? Just wondering if it's maxis or if my settings are off somewhere.

Hi,

I just install trial version of iRealSMS and I like the feature like template and switching to conversation mode and sms mode which make sense.

I now uninstall BiteSMS because I think iRealSMS startup and runs very much faster. Can anyone confirm this. iRealSMS rock but it is kind of pricey EURO 9.95.

Sadly, you can't have Cydia without jailbreaking as jailbreaking gives you the option to use 3rd party applications.

Cheers

no. JB as the name suggests, is to "free" your device so that you can introduce foreign and unrecognised elements into it. cydia is obviously a foreign element as it is unsanctioned by apple and therefore voids your warranty

But when a warranty claim becomes necessary, just restore unit before sending in for it. No issue.

are you so sure? do you know that if apple decides to be a "anjing betina", they can actually trace back whether a unit has been jailbroken before.

okay let's forget about the technical bit. now consider this, what if your unit is broken and cannot be restored (obviously one of the main reasons when one decides to claim the warranty)? then what happens?

I am merely suggesting an alternative which by the way has been deployed by many. If there are fears, don't. Let me coin one of your phrases, not necessary in these words but relevant all the same, if you think can, go ahead, if not, don't......

Cheers.

coincidentally, i'm also trying to provide another alternative to your earlier post because you were positive that's the end (quoting your statement "No issue." thereafter)

hence my post isn't necessarily targeted at you, but merely feeding him with more information.

Quick question > Is the iPhone OS designed for multitasking?

For example in my previous Symbian phone, I can run the GPS in the background while typing an sms and have the gmail symbian app checking my mail as well, and I can switch between all 3 apps without closing either.

I can't figure out how to do that with my iPhone though. Like if I have fring running, and I want to go to check my Facebook, it seems like Fring closes and disconnects me from all my IM logins.

Also I need to just say that 1) the battery life is bad, and 2) the position of the speakers is too easy to totally block with one finger when holding the phone in landscape. Otherwise, loving my iPhone so far & no regrets for the price paid.

you can update it anytime if u bought it officially from Vodafone NZ.
no and u shouldnt install yellosnow at all....as it is unlock straight out of the box set.

hmm it should be normal if ur iPhone's battery don't last that long when it is new, coz u tend to use it more often when it is new (e.g. exploring the phone)
