Hope I explain this correctly...when the phone recovers its signal after there's no or weak reception, it locks its SIM just like after a reboot. Solution is to disable the SIM code request security function which means when the phone 'reboots', it will remain on.
*
i dont think that's the case. Coz everytime i go into a lift at my university, the phone will lose the reception, but it doesnt lock the sim. When i go out of the lift it will just get back the reception and i dont have to key in the simcard pin

I can't explain that. But why don't you try what I suggsted and see whether the problem you are facing goes away. If it does then that's the solution.

For your info Maxis has took license from Apple to sell iPhone3G in Malaysia. Maxis exp will be selling iPhone3G around end of this month.  smile.gif  So decide to wait for Maxis or buy from others, up to you.  blush.gif

I am also looking for an alternative solution besides what I have suggested as like you I too want to enable the SIM code option. So if you or any other forumers know of one, do post or educate (I believe most if not all concerned with this issue would like to know) us. TQ.

This is probably true. In fact, it may be launched as early as next week. Dad heard from Maxis insider. In fact, he already said last year that Maxis will be bringing it in this year and just got told that it will probably be next week.

Obviously, there's no news on any website so far to confirm this. So I guess you're just gonna have to take my word for it. If it happens, rejoice! If not, the world moves on... smile.gif
