here's my collection of Wraiths..got 1 more not pictured coz i couldnt find him..when i first saw his appearance in Image comic series,my first thought was how amazing his action figure will be like.this guy is just awesome.there's a blue variant but i couldn't find him..

bro Sadistic,there's two solution to the elbow restriction issue..completely cut off both ends of the wires or just the end that joins to the upper elbows.



and here's Wraith marking his debut in the comics.beginning that issue,there's 4-5 pages dedicated to telling Wraith's origin.i think he was offed by Snake Eyes in America's Elite..not sure which issue tho coz i stopped buying after issue 10.

darkshadow: He was offed by Baroness in America's Elite storyline, where Baroness issued to a showdown with Wraith in a graveyard (he pointed the irony of the chosen battleground). Although Wraith has the upperhand with the suit, Baroness knew the scematics of the armor long enough (Wraith worked for Destro and Barones instead choosing to work with Cobra for quite some time, probably months), to counter-attack and disable his armor. Rendering him imobilized and helpless, Wraith offered Baroness the whereabouts of her child in exchange for sparing his life, Baroness rather blows his brains apart, knowing full well that he'll probably backstab her again. It was so awesome.

I agree, i wish Daina has a figure in the 25th line too

I remembered in the Image comics, Destro sent Baroness away in a jet ,piloted by Wraith..correct me if i'm wrong but it's been few years since i read that issue..when the jet took off,it exploded...what happened to Wraith?in Elite,Baroness was held captive by the Joes,her child taken from her.

darkshadow: You're right, Destro did have Baroness to be transported by a jet plane with Wraith as a bodyguard. Destro was afraid of Baroness and their child's safety. During that time, Wraith was already on a payroll from Cobra Commander. The jet did explode, sabotaged by Wraith, but she and wraith wasn't in the jet, can't remember how he did pull it off though. And yup, somehow she ended up being caught by the Joes, had an operation and got the baby out.

Then it gets even more funkier...Cobra Commander handpicked several promising units, each specializing in their own skills, to do their final test...to kidnap a baby in a hospital and killing ALL witnesses. Two of the units questioned the logic and the moral compass of kidnapping babies, one of them is the famous Rip-It, HiSS Tank Commander. They got killed. This same unit, later joined by few more promising candidates, are renamed by Cobra Commander...as The Plague, to be EQUALS to the Joes. Awesome.

I wish they do release the Plague figures

darkshadow: Yeah, WWIII storyline! It's pretty awesome with those covers, showcasing all the characters. There were at least a dozen over cobra characters that i don't even recognized and i wish Big Boa was in the 25th line

BB was showcased as a Hasbro custom IINM..but i miss Toxo Viper and Hydro Viper.i wonder if they are still in my storage box back in parent's home.

Borders does have few new GI Joe comic, not sure where to start.

So, which GI Joe comic series or storylines/arcs would you guys recommend?

hmmm anyone has extra Storm Shadow for sale? Movie one haha

-if you want to start fresh,get the IDW monthly offering series ,titled G.I. Joe.
-if you want to know what GI joe is all about and want to go retro,it's Marvel comics' 155 issue run..IDW is publishing TP reprints of Marvel's run..thus far i think Volume 4 is out.
-if you want a more mature themed GI Joe ,then its America's Elite.
-or if you want good looking artwork,high tech weapons and gear plus new outfit for existing characters,its Image/DDP's self title GI Joe series consisting 43 issues IINM.


as for me,the first ever major collision of GI Joe vs Transformers by Marvel Comics back in 80s is awesome.
also,the above mentioned Image series.and 1 particular digest in B+W featuring ninjas in action with no dialogue titled Arashikage Showdown.

What about the Image/DD series? Now that IDW's taken over the publishing rights, is the former publisher's series still available in its entirety in TPB form?

For the record, I enjoyed the cool looking TF vs GI Joe minis produced by Dreamwave a few years ago.The first one had jaw-dropping artwork by the ever awesome Jae Lee (who, by the way, came to M'sia sometime in the 90s and I even had a photo taken with him and a sketch drawn and autographed by him). IIRC, I think they didn't finish the second mini-series.
