Don't know about you, but the rivatuner graphs do show data that is 1 minute ago etc, and also peak temperatures. That's the point of graphs anyway though right? Temp vs time. So just play the game for 1 hour and check your temps history(10 minutes is enough though). Also check your GPU load, which is a Load vs time graph.

@jinaun: Wouldn't a better setup be 4870x2 on top?

got my XFX 4890 last week and CF it with my old 4870 just to see what happen. tried with different config such as overdrive enable/disable, swap the PCIE slot, using different CF finger, using Catalyst 9.3/9.4 etc but CF did not kicks in both in games or 3DMark. 3dmark and games run at the primary adapter only. the good news is my motherboard died after 35 mins and immediately i have a reason to buy new mobo . below is the CCC screen caps.

but yah, sometimes when u play around with your rig's internal component, it is considered a risky business. maybe yours was due to static electricity?

regarding the incompatibility of 4870 and 4890 issue, maybe it's due to driver? but i jinaun managed to CF his 4870X2 with 4890.... though very very unstable. so that's something to think about...

i7 hehehe.. static may also cause the issue. i highly thinks it's the driver issue that prevent the 4870/4890 CF rite now.
