Guys, this might sound weird/disgusting. But I would like to know how do you guys handle such situation.

Given the scenario you go for one whole day hike in the middle of the jungle & suddenly you have to answer to the mother nature call. How do you solve the problem? Anyone encounter such situation before?

I dont think ur asking an inappropriate question..cause this do happen..
I do have personal experience (sadly..lol) well theres this time I was on a swing due to pushing myself too hard.the next thing hit me was the feel of throwing out and pee..so I quicky get to a tree site and "settle" it..luckily I did not puke..after the settlement lol..I try to regain back my breath tempo..

well..I think as for guys u can still use a bottle as a last resort..

well, i think there should be no problem as everyone would have to "release" sooner or later
as one of the female counterpart, i do not like squatting while i pee, so i got myself the whizz freedom
so now i just go to some secluded area, face some tree, say excuse me and pee while standing laugh.gif
the thought of something jumping up to bite my buttocks is really scary biggrin.gif
but must really take notice so that we do not defecate near streams or campsites
if i am not mistaken, should be 200m away...

as for pooping, i have not done so yet, so no report on my behalf

Yesterday been to Gunung Nuang.
We reach there around 7.45am & begin the climb.
Reach the peak around 2pm.
On the way back, about 4km near to the entrance, it becoming so dark as it was already close to 7.30pm & we only can shine the path with our hand phone (didn't bring along torch light because we thought we can make it down on time).

Hehe its not disgusting but I've did my big business in the jungle before..

My friends would be watching out and cover me.. You need to have the right group of friends tongue.gif

And please do not release near the river as leeches might come to your body and would cause discomfort lol!

Wow glad you made it out with your handphones! It's really dangerous to be in the jungle without a headlamp or torch light biggrin.gif Nice view!

BTW guys! Last weekend I was at Gunung Angsi! The ranger said it was closed due to construction but told us it is possible to hike because most of the construction is done..

While walking towards the woods, his colleague came to us with the bike and warned us not to head in there.. Although we have set our mind to go we ignored his 2nd colleague! We felt like the whole mountain belonged to us.. There were only 3 of us in the mountain!

We bumped in to one of the top10 deadly snakes! Which was the Blue Malaysian Coral snake, it was really small and was in our path, so we just waited for it to pass and quickly ran to the top.

At the end of the day it was an easy hike and fun too because it was one of my friends first hike..

Gunung Angsi will be officially opened on the 1st of October 2013 biggrin.gif Cheers!

Oh wow leeches!
I did few hike but never once encounter a leech (and during the recent one we have to cross few streams but still none.)
But then I notice two guys on my way up got leech bite.

For me, usually to prevent problem like that I'll release it in the morning before I step out from home. icon_rolleyes.gif

Nuang has leeches!! Haha been there before too

Anyways get this insect repellent called MosiGuard! It works against leeches too!

Spray it especially around your socks and open areas such as necks hands n shoulders you'll be fine smile.gif

It last up to 10 hours according to them but if you sweat alot I guess it would be much lesser! biggrin.gif

It looks like this

I think leeches are like mosquito.
As long as they got full, they will detach themselves.
I will see how, if I really indeed of that will go pharmacy to look for one.

Btw, have you did Gunung Tahan before?
