Hi guys, I need recommendations on which tour agent to go with to hike Mount Kinabalu. Planning to hike this coming June 2015.

Can anyone here recommends me a legit and reliable tour agent that they use?

Thanks in advance! notworthy.gif

I went last year with Amazing Borneo. Quite pricey, but very good services. They even supplied us with mini oxygen tanks to use near the peak when a lot of others were panting for O2.

Wa.. Climbing mt kk in a month.. Damn nervous..

Anyway I have friends from HK asking me to bring for a hike coming Saturday. Any suggestion? Not something too exhausting and with good view.

Anyone wanna lead us also welcome.

If you're on budget and don't mind dorm, Jungle Jack is recommended, good service and lowest price you can ever find.

Anyway, what I heard just not long ago, Mt. KK is kinda pack all the way till July. If you haven't make your booking, better check before you buy air ticket. I'm skipping this peak season and going in Oct.

Gunung Datuk has amazing unobstructed views at the top, around 2 hours hiking.

When we signed up for Mt KK last year, many said the same..

Must train kao kao..

At the end.. starting that time many trained.. slowly slacked off..
Some never start training, nervous and decide not to go although already paid

Now we are going to hike Mt. KK next week..
Many start panicking and hike again..

Hope you don't be one of them

Doing timpohon return on May, doing Mesilau on end of Sept.
I don't think we will be doing via ferata.. Too rushed..

I am very worried about my gang because all of them has very varying fitness level

I will be doing Mesilau this Sept.

Just came back from my Mt. KK hike via Timpohon returned

Like to share some statistics
only 6/13 of our group members made it to the summit
all 13 made it to laban rata within 6 hours
2 developed some sort of Altitude Sickness
1 made it to the summit with literally no training at all, reaching laban rata with a quite relaxing 4 hours time from timpohon gate.

Overall it was:
The weather was kind to us, no rain and not windy at all.
The hike is not as easy as I thought, got some sore legs on the second day after the hike but nothing major.
