I wonder what's wrong with 16:10, not the black bar thing again I hope.
Anyway with all those connectivity you have to be prepare to pay more, I suggest you look at Dell UltraSharp™ 2408WFP instead, it has the same connectivity as Dell 3008WFP UltraSharp 30". Price is Rm1955 at the moment, look for it at Dell website under SMALL & MEDIUM BUSINESS

the 30" Dell is fully capable of the "full HD 1080p". more than capable
just becoz a monitor is not 16:9 doesnt mean it cant support or give a "true/full" HD

the price difference between this two is HUGE
y not compare almost similar price range?
*
hmm that is 16:10 i dont like

QUOTE(steventsc @ Apr 22 2009, 10:23 AM)
I think @logi85 is saying if 16:10 he will get black bars when watching the normal 16:9 full HD movies? tts y he doesn't like it?
*
if 16:10 wil get black bars that i dont want i like to watch movies HD Movies blu-ray 1080p most 16:9 without black bars that is correct i want 16:9 Full HD 1080p

QUOTE(aichiban @ Apr 22 2009, 10:50 AM)
he mentioned coz "he looking 16:9 he like FULL HD 1080p"

black bar is not a bad thing, the monitor frame is black anyway.
and u'll be seeing a real full HD

+ no oddly strecthed images/fonts on normal applications
*
yas correct i looking 16:9 full HD 1080p without black bars we can watch HD Movies 1080p 16:9 without black bars so be nice that i like 16:9

QUOTE(valho @ Apr 22 2009, 10:53 AM)
using 16:9 doesn't mean there's no black bar, only HD tv series resolution is 16:9, most movies are not
*

Most, if not all HD material will have a ratio of even wider than 16:9, like 1.85:1. So you end up getting black bar too, just not as thick as 16:10 screen.

i second this. i don't get why people care about the black bar so much, there's a freaking black bar even on 16:9, and even if there isn't there's the freaking plastic bar that is your monitor frame, u wanna remove that too? if anything, the black bars gives you a good buffer against your monitor frame and whatever you have behind your monitor. i just don't get the people here sometimes.

having the black bar is good for me, since it's just nice for the my MPC control and also whenever the taskbar comes up when I open other stuff on my second screen.

actually it still can be no black bar for 16:10 ratio, just use setting full screen (and dont lock the ratio) and done!! no more black bar!!! but the picture looks taller a bit (not so worst), but the objective of no black bars completed.

other way you can crop the video to 16:10 ratio. I used KMplayer for that, dunno other player can or not

Hay lads,

Im planning to get a new LCD since I just got a new rig and hopefully I could make full use of the advantage of having GTX295. However I wish not for an oversized LCD, probly about 24".

Im interested in T240 but I hv no idea about the current price. However, are there any other model/brand within the same price range perhaps that you guys could recommend me with?

Dell's Ultrasharp model is quite popular.. But the price is high..

Hmm but I read couple of not so convincing reviews of that model.

I stumbled upon Samsung 2233rz. Any available info on where it is available and the price for it in KL?
