well, today upload speed is worse than before. today cant use MSN. posting using fast reply failed many many times. loading pages stopped halfway. very very bad today.

i just cant understand y on earth celcom cut original upload speed of 100kbps to mere 10kbps? or even less than that. there wasnt even a single explanation. called CS several times and this problem has been there for a month now... n everytime they said there is NO problem on their side and they will look into it. NO problem? how on earth my upload speed suddenly go down then... n not only me having slow upload but everyone else i seen so far... from LYN, celcom users' blogs n etc... so frustrating!

quite sure this is a result of their new throttling system. so y dun they rectify it? i bet the technicians or whoever involved r just too lazy to reconfigure everything back. i wonder how many calls they have every day

dun think so. they neva say anything about 7 days cooling off period or something like that. or at least that wad i noe. maybe not the case.

now this service getting worse every day. even the uncapped ppl having upload speed of less than 10kbps... wad on earth is happening...

i think ALL OTHER SERVICES is beta than celcom now. n this is not exaggerating... personal experience. personal trauma. personal frustration.

Agree. Posting here is like a lottery. 90% failure, 10% success. Everytime fail have to reconnect or use EDGE. Which takes average of a min to two, for EACH attempt. So if u fail 10 times, u waste 20 mins just for posting ONE reply here.

Even worse for uploading image. 99% failure, 1% success. N sometimes when it is successfully loads (as in uploading in progress), the upload speed suddenly goes down to 0. All the efforts go down the drain just like that way. The min. time taken to upload ONE image, in my case, is ONE hour. N that is only around 200KB in size... Ever since then, i use other connection to upload my pics... Totally defeats the purpose of having "mobile" "BROADBAND"...

Added on March 11, 2009, 1:46 amOnce again i calling for 98% dissatisfaction or higher, seeing from celcom recent performance. they dun deserve any praise wadsoeva.

50Mbps is probably just a burst. N last month celcom was a million times beta than wad it is today. But honestly digilife speedtest results r consistent. I always see his results all beyond 1Mbps.

MSN failed for more than 10 times for past one hour... Y do we have to suffer such ridiculous upload speed. I understand celcom will throttle downlink. Fine, do that if u want. But uplink too??? To mere 10kbps or less? Worse than dial-up...

Well i meant is that at least last month i can upload files. Now, dun even dream of using MSN or upload anything... Ya at least celcom should give an announcement if they making upgrade or maintenance but well, they dun really care i guess.

well, wad we can offer u is our little "happy" experience wif celcom. slow, capped and even slower upload. less than 10kbps. so maybe u can try other wireless broadband. maxis offers beta service as of now. n they havent implement fair usage policy. so their 3GB quota isnt exactly less than 5GB celcom offering. celcom surely, 100%, without fail, will cap u after that.

yes, celcom has the widest coverage rite now. so if celcom is the only ISP around, u may consider it. or else subscribe for maxis of digi edge. edge may be slower but so far i heard it is very stable.

see this is wad i mean about changing dissatisfaction level. someone with authority pls change dissatisfaction level to 98 or higher. we have to show ppl that the service is genuinely a disaster. or else celcom keeps getting customers n wont feel the need to improve...

excellent move, fruitie. include the feedbacks from here if u please. nothing will be done if we just stay quiet. i called the CS for more than 5 times this month alone. and wad they said is there is NO problem on their ends. everything is smooth and good. then how do u explain slow upload and terrible service we all having now.

everyone, pls support fruitie. GO! GO, fruitie! Destroy celcom! Get back wad we deserve from paying 68/98 a month.

for all potential celcom customers, i would say all other services r beta than celcom, no matter is digi, maxis, p1 n etc. no matter wad package u will have the same disaster. as for daily unlimited, u have quota of 25GB a month so u be capped after that anyway. n u also have upload problem from the second u subscribe...

Added on March 11, 2009, 12:59 pmYa. if we wanna go to press, it's beta to have it on the paper itself. not the electronic copy. anyone noe journalist around? this may not be a page-one material but we appreciate the help to voice our frustration towards celcom. hell, we storm n bring down the celcom if we have to...

celcom is a criminal organization! lets show the world the true face of celcom.

joking about the address tongue.gif no offence intended, Mr Charles. just sugar-high and wrong dose of celcom frustration.

I think we should include this link thread. If The Star decides not to include, then at least they will substitute or rephrase it to be more vague. Like fruitie said. Popular forum in malaysia. rclxms.gif Beta than nothing i guess. Newspaper is after all a channel for public to express their feelings, inputs n etc. Hope The Star make a strong impression n convince general public that celcom broadband is providing lousy service. Make celcom change or else lets the views of potential customers of celcom change. Celcom: Widest, Slowest, Most unstable and unreliable.

The biggest trouble now is the slow upload speed. That has to be said. Coz that cause lots of other problems, like no email attachment, image upload, IM chat n hundred more. There r many times i have to urgently attach files to my email but thanks to celcom, i have to drive to nearest free wi-fi area to do so... Next, the disconnection problems, not often but normally occurs at nite. N after that, difficult to reconnect.

just came back. have to use celcom. bummer!!! n i just spent 10 min trying to get connected. y is it so difficult to get connected at nite? previously there wasnt any problem, like a month ago. is it they cut back on bandwidth n thus their network is easily congested now?

i wish our premier user, toilet bowl, can help us understand wad happen to celcom bb. everytime i called they always said NO problem on their side. they asked me the idiotic routine procedure. restart, reinstall n bla bla bla... like it got to do wif the upload speed. then they said will look into it. apparently neva for my last 5/6 calls...

at nite the network seems to be congested. everytime wanna reconnect to reply here always failed. i just tried more than 10 times to post this reply.

i cant use MSN tonite. too lazy to retry n retry. dun think it is MSN problem coz i can use it just now but not using celcom, of coz. very slow upload speed is the culprit, no doubt. but celcom CS always say NO problem there... how to explain the sudden reduction from 100+kbps to less than 10kbps in one nite. this happened around 17-18 Feb, the date celcom said to have an upgrade... doesnt make sense that on one day, the network is congested. cant be thousands of ppl storm celcom centers to sign up, rite? must be after-effect of their silly upgrade...

tonite very crowded heh? more than 80 posts in last few hours. this thread started about 20 days ago, now already page 47... all filled wif complaints, complaints n complaints about celcom service.

wow... nice speed for DiGi EDGE, similar to the capped speed of D98. at the price of 30 a month... nice! good bargain.

lets do some math analysis. based on download usage...
figures below r based on several assumptions that may not apply to everyone so avoid flaming me. just trying to do something to justify the terrible celcom service...

Celcom D68 (RM 68 a month)
in the most hardcore scenario, 3.7GB finish in one day (theoretical maximum download possible at 384kbps). 1.3GB finish second day at around 8 hours. so lets say the remaining 28 days capped to 64kbps, that's equal to 7.2GB. total monthly usage is about 12.2GB (including 5GB no-cap usage)
rough cost analysis: RM5.6 for every GB

Celcom D98 (RM 98 a month)
in the most hardcore scenario, lets say 5GB quota finish in one day, so remaining 29 days is capped to 128kbps. lets say 10 hours a day, that's about 530MB a day. total monthly usage is about 20GB (including 5GB no-cap usage)
rough cost analysis: RM4.9 for every GB

DiGi EDGE D'Campus (RM 30 a month)
the same 10 hours a day, also about 530MB a day. means 15GB a month.
rough cost analysis: RM2 for every GB

Normal DiGi EDGE (RM 66 a month)
the same 10 hours a day, about 530MB a day. equates to 15GB a month.
rough cost analysis: RM4.4 for every GB

even the more expensive DiGi package is cheaper then the cheapest celcom package... LOL!!!

DiGi 3G Broadband (RM 128 a month)
in most hardcore scenario, 5GB a day is used again. since DiGi has 50GB quota, that means 10 days not capped, 20 days capped to 64kbps. 10 hours a day for remaining 20 days, means it is about 5.2GB. total monthly usage is roughly 55GB.
rough cost analysis: RM2.3 for every GB

Maxis 3G Broadband (RM 99 a month, not included tax, if i not mistaken)
in most hardcore scenario, 5GB a day is used. Maxis hasnt implement their fair usage policy from I heard n read so far (maybe wrong so dun flame), so a month, it is 150GB. a bit too far-fetched but there u go. total monthly usage is 150GB.
rough cost analysis: RM0.7 for every GB

winner: DiGi EDGE D'Campus, more than twice cheaper than celcom. plus more stable n upload speed is around 50kbps. DiGi EDGE also allow ppl to upload pic, files n chat using IM, not web-based IM, unlike celcom BB...

updated winner: Maxis 3G Broadband (the supposed no fair usage policy), at RM0.7 for every GB. 7 times cheaper than celcom.

Yes, i did mention D'Campus. I added D68 analysis as well. Hope it provides insight on how expensive n terrible celcom is.

I think i just win a lottery. I manage to edit my post on first try tonite. OMG! It feels like being on heaven just to be able to edit post here...

further analysis for normal DiGi EDGE (RM 66 a month)
the same 10 hours a day, about 530MB a day. equates to 15GB a month.
rough cost analysis: RM4.4 for every GB

update: Maxis 3G broadband analysis added.

She must be shocked! Pity her. I can imagine that. I also rarely online at nite coz of celcom "best" upload speed of 7kbps... K, lets make it sounds more powerful... 7000bps...

Anyway, last few days to the end of the billing month. Too bad i paid for it already. Will be making a big move from then on. Wish i can enjoy DiGi EDGE D'Campus, very cheap n stable.

O boy... Nice. Can anyone else (other than students at MMU) get D'Campus SIM? I mean at the booth or DiGi center?
