Glad it worked for you but one thing i forgot to mention (which just came to mind) was to uninstall the pirated copy first so that you don't get any registry conflict. If it works though then I won't worry too much about it. the proper instructions are

steam automatically updates games for you. If it's at 100% then you should have the gamefiles for 1.02.

Edit: not sure how steam handles dlc so you'll just have to mess around with the game yourself

For me I had to install them myself. I used the retail versions and it worked although I had to reinstall ME once. Remember not to leave traces of the pirated version around especially in the registry. Steam freaked out over that while installing BDtS.

yeah most probably, coz after getting GTA 4 DVD version, i found it very annoying to insert disc everytime to play and some more cant make backup out of it, so i finally realize that digital version is the best for lazy ppl like me to insert disc every time wan to play lor

this will be my first time 'pre-order' on steam...so how does it work after you preorder it? does it just stay 'dormant' until 26 January or will it download all the game first and somehow will install it on the 26 january itself?

Usually you will be able to start downloading it a few days before but it will be "encrypted" and you won't be able to play.

On release day you may have a small update to download that will unlock it.

I said "usually" because in some case Steam did not really give much time beforehand to download it, I do hope they don't mess up this one

Normally I buy the original and download the no-CD crack. My DVD drive always makes the sound like it's buttsecks-ing my game disc

thanks alot, will pre-order it tonite then....since i already download ME on steam when they had CRAAAAZYYYYY promotion last December thru January (i think i bought it USD4.99 IINM) I'm thinking why not pre-order the ME2 for continuation sake hihihi...

I'll be getting ME through retail since I feel sorry for TSB.

Besides, retail for standard edition is far cheaper than on steam and retail for CE is at least the same price as steam but with arguably more "value".
