Yes you're right...US sites like CNN.com load slow specially watching video news...no ideal why....when 1st register and use DIGI BB for last 2 weeks no issue until now....

I wonder did DIGI did some setting like after certain period the speed will slow down because when you sign-up the sales agents said you can free trial for 7 days. Within 7 days if not satisfied you can return the modem and cancel the BB.

I think all ISP is the same...within 7 days everything will be fine and good. Once after 7 days...hoo...hoo..hoo...your nightmare begin..... mad.gif  vmad.gif  mad.gif  vmad.gif

I think they have a problem with their international link or something.

Damansara looks OK...

Need to call their Customer service to complain. It could be site related.

Can you perform the tests below:
- Speed test from www.digi.com.my/broadband
- Speed test from speedtest.net KL server
- Traceroute results to FB, Google and Yahoo using Pingplotter freeware downloadable from www.pingplotter.com

Paste your results here.

I think they still have an issue with their peering partner!

Where are you located DarkImage?

Can you open your DiGi connection manager, go to Tools - Diagnostics - Network Status.

What is your RSSI value (signal strength)?

Anything above -90dBm should be great.
Anything between -90 and -100 will be marginal.
Anything lower than -100 will be poor.

btw what is the traceroute for?
*
Here's the explanation:
- Your speedtest results shows that your last mile connection speed is healthy. You are able to download up to 1Mbps.
- The traceroute test is normally used to test the latency between your PC and the server. You can check the route which the packets took to go back and forth from the server. Based on your posting, the traceroute result looks similar to mine so in principle you should not have any major issues.

DO you have any P2P applications running on the background?

mine is -77dBm...then poor... sad.gif  vmad.gif  mad.gif

Nolah -77dBm is higher than -90dBm so your signal is way excellent. (Please note the '-' sign)

Can you perform the same tests as what I have asked lhooipg.

Thanks.

Thanks for the explanation.....I don't use P2P application....but u said if anything below 100 is consider poor....

Anything below -100dBm is poor eg. -110dBm etc...

It means on of the things below:
- You may be located at the fringe of the coverage.
- You are blocked by other physical obstacles or too deep inbuilding
- You are on high ground where the interference is to high

Some tips:
- Go closer to the windows
- If you stay in a double storey house, try on the second floor
- Avoid using the service above 5-10 floor

When your signal strength is within -100dBm and -110dBm, you may get frequent disconnections or drops to EDGE.

my is -61....how to do all the other tests?
*
Perform the speed test from DiGi broadband web site and speedtest.net and post it here.

Download the pingplotter software from www.pingplotter.com. Perform a traceroute test to Facebook and post it here.

I have two laptops, one is Dell and another is Lenovo, when connected to Dell, it is always on EDGE, while Lenovo always Blue (HSPA). Anyone experiences this? Is it because I have Download Manager installed in my Dell laptop?
*
Hi Lexy, certain laptops do not provide enough power to the USB port that the modem will have issues connecting to WCDMA/HSPA.

Try to get a USB cable with 2 usb heads and connect them to 2 USB ports. This shall make it better.

Do you have problem sending emails with attachments? If you don't then there is nothing wrong with your network connection.

It's probably Facebook problem.

This could be facebook issue:

http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=2305272732&topic=4835

or search Facebook upload issues on Google.

What happen to DIGI?
Also what i notice is that the  server is at the Sabah side.
Is it always been like this or they just recently move it to new site?

You are probably capped. They have implemented the fair usage policy last week.

Among others, some quick fix to support Win7 and Snow Leopard (Mac) and a notification feature that allows you to get notification when you have reached your quota or when your bill is due.
