RM88 explore with free modem.
She said if i terminate next month or later, i have to pay RM15/month for the modem. If like this it quite ok for me because it only cost RM180 ( RM15x12 )
so if next month i want to cancel, i will pay for RM15x11 month
( dont forget your upfront payment RM100. )

But i'm not sure if got any other termination fees or not.

This is report using streamyx 2Mb

looking at the chart, it would be bad for digi to say theoretical speed > 3.6mbps and u can only get average 700kbps.. i would rather have my streamyx > 1mbps and im getting 1mbps.

same as my house's location. Keeps downgrading to EDGE, whcih is pointless because i'm paying for 3G speed, not turtle speed (pun intended).

my office got celcom 384k also, can get around 0.3Mb, better than digi edge.

Very spurious tonight. Keeps dropping to EDGE before disconnecting me altogether. Hiyoh what is happening....

It was not that. Signal has always been stable, never disconnected suddenly until yesterday.

but strangely just now during the tunderstorm, its like the tower nearest to me was struck or something cuz normally i get full bar max but for half an hour i completely got no signal from it and was like using another far away tower ... nearly no signal at that point
theres a long cable for the e160? i though it was only a usb stick only?

the answer is yes... which mean the max bill you need to pay per month for discover/explore is RM138.

Is your subscription Discover/Explore? Only Extreme can get 2Mbps and above.

My area too is slow. I think this is a network wide maintenance, not isolated to the local district towers.

Have you use quota over 10Gb ? How about the speed after 10Gb?

Hmm.. sounds very very misleading. The 3.6Mbps theoretical speed is actually the maximum capable speed of the E160E USB modem. But the service is capped at 1Mbps. How we know its 1Mbps? Thats because this is the market expectation paying at such a price point. But Digi quote likely average speed which is 700kbps. That was the common understanding discussed and established over here few weeks ago. Discover and Explore users only capable to a maximum download speed of 1Mbps. Extreme users 2Mbps and up.

Unless, Digi has expanded their service to allow Discover/Explore users to 3.6Mbps maximum then its a different story. That will put Digi on the same competitive advantage with Celcom and Maxis. Celcom and Maxis allow their users up to 3.6Mbps also... but that depends on the time of the day and location.

So until Digi representatives here explain.. the 3.6Mbps theoretical speed can mean anything: Maximum speed capable by the USB modem or maximum download speed allowed on the internet plan (meaning no longer capped at 1Mbps).

OR maybe Digi is trying to justify and explain to curious users who ask why is their USB modem showing the connected speed in Windows XP, Vista, etc 3.6Mbps. This is link speed and is similar to connecting to LAN ethernet network where it will report 10/100/1000Mbps but ultimate the speed depends on the downlink from Digi. Basically going back to our internet subscription plan.

update: I found out www.google.co.jp can work while google.com and com.my still cant

update 2: as of this update post, everything has revert back to normal

again detecting and connecting hsdpa but not hsdpa speed...max hovers around 130kbps according to the statistics.

what gives?, ive tried manual sear and i detect 3g network for all 3 (digi, celcom, maxis)

how come i nvr get such a speed one? 

asking if wan speed higher than HSPDA i need to change my modem? seems no matter how strong the signal still 120kb/sec max. is it they cap or wad

I noticed another peculiarity.

Whenever I insert the modem into my Vista notebook, instead of the DIGI INTERNET screen, I get the INSTALLATION screen and when I click auto-run then the DIGI INTERNET screen appears.

However, on my XP pc, I do not have this peculiarity.

I have tried reinstalling numerous times but the peculiarity persists.

may i ask digi is using dynamic ip or shared ip?

anyone try torrenting with digi before? any feedback?

how about online gaming? eg: ggclient, hows the ping?

might change to digi after this, the replies here is tempting.
