if you reaches RM138 cap for Discover and Explore package and RM188 for Extreme package, you can still use, but your speed will be throttled down to 128kbps.

by the way, the package offered and their data limit :
Discover : RM58 - 3GB
Explore : RM108 - 10GB
Extreme : RM188 - 20GB

these packages are not meant for heavy torrent downloaders.
If you are one, then you might better off with streamyx, with unlimited data, though it's throttled.

Imagine, if somebody is hogging the bandwith and affect the quality of service offered, would you be happy with that?

Depends on which client u use. Certain client can get average 80KB/s constantly. rclxms.gif Those with a higher 1.5Mbp cap can get even more.

i accept it. i don think lousy with other internet services provide. digi can give our good speed and word it. if u download over 3gb or 10gb  u speed still same won be slow down but the only will me charging untill rm138 after rm138 the speed still same wont be slow down. for 20gb download permonth also samer wont be slow donw after u use more than 20gb. i think digi give volum to over digi bb use quite good.
*
i think they throttle after the max amount

coz if not then the extreme package is rather pointless especially compare with discover

why they wan to put quota for extreme if monthly is 188....and over limit oso 188??

unless they meant monthly 188 + over limit 188 = 376

Need to confirm first about the 20GB, it might be throttled after 20GB itself

still i am not happy with Digi for the low unreasonable pricing

Discover : RM58 - 3GB
Explore : RM108 - 10GB
Extreme : RM188 - 20GB

Since they got throttled policy...they should have set higher in order to compete and killing off Celcom BB and Maxis BB

my suggestion;
Discover : RM58 - 10GB
Explore : RM108 - 20GB
Extreme : RM188 - 30GB

Guanrantee will kill of Celcom and Maxis anytime.. rclxms.gif

Question on the Extreme package,

2Mbps with 20GB, capped at 188RM, so after i download more then 20GB, since the price is capped, that means my speed gets throttled? if throttled, then throttled to how much?
*
Throttled down the 128kbps. All three packages are the same - once you hit your monthly data quota/maximum capped charges in RM, you're throttled.

I'm sure they have done enough research to determine they pricing. They have just started off and I'm sure they cannot afford to set the pricing to cheap or they might make a loss then.

i've also recently subscribed.. using the 'discover' package. dont need much else. still have streamyx at home(been getting progressively bad recently though).

i'm not technical, but i need it as a backup, especially when i need an internet connection urgently (if no hsdpa, at least got edge). I actually signed up maxis broadband 1 year ago. the problem is, its totally useless.. i live in subang, and it doesnt work at all. keeps disconnecting even with hsdpa full bar, i have long periods of totally nothing happening and always disconnecting. to add salt to the wound, after cancelling almost a year ago, and having to make 2 complaints, 1 by phone, the other in person at maxis centre, i am still being billed today for a service i no longer subscribe to. Will never touch maxis ever again.

bearing in mind that the service is still new, and not many users on board.. i am at least enjoying decent speeds now that are consistent, and doesn't disconnect. even in areas with no hsdpa, edge speed is consistent and reliable.

i just did a couple of speed tests.. dunno if these numbers are good or if the test is even a good reflection of performance??

dont flame me pls, i'm just sharing wink.gif

Yes those speeds are excellent since it is only advertised to have up to 700kbps but it can touch 1mbps and it is the same for international servers as well. smile.gif

I can conduct tests for the Extreme package once my friend lends the modem to me. Used it a while before and web surfing is really fast with it. biggrin.gif

In simple words, everything you do on the Internet involves receiving and sending data. smile.gif
