Hello all N82 gurus & users. I just only bought my new N82 to replace my aging 3310 (damn reliable phone btw) & it came with the default 2GB mem card. I just wanna know if I get a 16GB mem card can I just plug it in & run it or do I need any modifications to my phone in order to use it. I've seen screenshots of 16GB cards used on N82 on the web but there doesn't seem to be any info about whether I need to have the phone firmware "hacked" first or not. I've upgraded to the latest firmware (v31.0.016) using the Nokia Software Updater & as far as i read this firmware version is unhackable currently. Thanks in advance & hopefully I don't have to hack my phone to use any new mem cards.

Another thing is I've checked my phone & it says that its running Feature Pack 1. Is there any way to upgrade to FP2?

Swt... Who can explain to me WHY after 1 1/2 hours i plug in my n82 to PC through USB, the battery drain from 6 bars to 3 bars... And... Malfree maps got what features? Can anyone explain to me? I dun think i will keep on using GPS. Just in case if i get lost at KL(i'm from bintulu, will get to KL this saturday) or want to find the way to a place only i need it. Malfreemaps can do that?

Swt... I'm totally an idiot about GPS. Er... I want to install malfreemaps on N82. I found a forum about it but i dunno which one to dl and which one to install. I read through it but i dun really understand.

When N82 is plug into PC USB, every now and then, there is ping/sync between the two device, to ensure both are still alive. That will drain the battery quite fast like what you encounter.

Yes, it can guide. You need the engine + map. Most of us are using GMXT + MFM/MSM

Wow you must have waited long..3310... *salute*

1. In the end, the map is just a XXX.img file, copy that to your garmin folder in your n82 will do.

2. For convenience, just extract it in your computer first, then only copy the .sis / .sisx / .jar game into the phone. Install from phone.

Swt. I tried to look into one of them. It's zipped file and no SIS/SISX/JAR file in it. All are just small small files like .png/.wav/.bin. I think nid install directly from the zip file on phone rite? Can i do like that??

You can try but from what you described, it doesn't sound like a game to me.

What game is that?

Er... Games like Worms Asphalt 3 street rules and need for speed. Softwares like nokmote i dled also in zipped file.

By the way, anyone of you experience a situation where your custom list of predictive text input reset by itself?

I noticed that sometimes my predictive text input, although I've been keying in my own list of words already, but suddenly one day it got reset and back to default dictionary list. It's frustrating.

Also: Any good accelerometer games to recommend?

I think there is a number of limited words for custom words and/or memory limitation. The least used will be overwritten by newer ones.

Yeah but that's "new word replaces the oldest added word".

My case is full reset. Not a single custom word I entered left in predictive text list. >.<

Now another prob exist. Isit N82 with FW 31 cannot install ahem version of n-gage game? I got some of them from websites but cannot install it. "File corrupted, delete it now?" Any solution for this? The FW come originally with the phone. Nvr update before.

By the way, i'm still installing SIS/SISX/Jar format games slowly... Nearly 70 of them. Hehe

try to read previous post about how to get your Certificate for your phone...
after get certificate then you can sign any appz

Oh i found out something about OPDA and easysign but i still need guide on it because it's hard to find out where to get the cert on OPDA website. I can understand chinese, just use whatever language to explain to me.

Haha I'm just slow to pickup on the latest cellphone tech & the N82 was the best & obvious choice for me as I absolutely hate flip (or clam shell), twist & slide type of cellphones. I want to be able to access the keypad without all the hassle of "transforming" it first coz I'm old school & too damn used to the 3310 design XD
