Sharing some of my DIY lawn works with phillipine grass.
It took 6 months to cover the whole lawn starting with small patches. Lots of weeding work and still have weed to take care til now. Those weed with "bulb" type root is pesky to remove  mad.gif .
The end results still doesnt look good. Now having problem with brown spots around. Maybe the grass grow too long and the grass cutter cut too short. I cut every month.

Should cut it smaller and place smaller pitch. Than put white sand till about same level as the grass.

You didn't put grass fertilizer ? It grow more greener.

Looking at your gif reminds me of how I spoilt the grass of my previous home.

Previous owner had the grass well maintained, green and well distributed.

By the time we moved houses 5 years later, most of the Phillipine grass has turned into cow grass, with uneven patches here and there cry.gif

Any photo of your planted garden? Got a new place but cannot decide to go with artificial grass (no maintenance) or Japanese grass. Now is fill with batches of cow grass.

Anyone have experience with artificial grass especially under hot sun? Will it colour change or worst melt?

Thanks.

I live in JB and a nursery quoted me RM8 ( 2' x 1' ft) for Japanese grass. Is the price reasonable?

I saw the previous post whereby someone get it from Sg Buloh for RM2 per sft.
