When you post it other countries you need to declare the item's value, some courier companies make it a must before they'll allow item dispatch. Some people put declarations so if anything goes missing, at least insurance is there and they can claim back the money.
Of course you can underdeclare, but if anything happens to the parcel, good luck have fun.
As for bringing it back by hand, as long as you don't bring alot, usually the Kastams won't bother. Unless you're like.. Bringing 20+ headphones, in new retail box somemore, then of course they'll suspect and start questioning.
