i would rather go for KSC-75. it is priced at half of the price of PK2 and yet it could produce much better detail and clarity. go for recabled KSC-75 by PCwork. you would never regret. smile.gif

wooo.. such a high recommedation..

Okay..Any suggestions which models should be up there? As the current price fluctuates a lot, I'm not sure how much each costs...Head Direct RE2? Is that a good 1? and Crossroads..
*

High end then you can get either IE8, Westone 3/E3X , CK100, UE triple fi 10 or Shure SE530. I guess these're the top universal IEM. IE8 is nice, very satisfying indeed, furthermore you can adjust the bass accordingly. I've nvr tried HD650 so I can't comment on that one xD
*
Haha.. Bro u r way out of topic la.. topic is budget earphone ler.. tongue.gif tongue.gif
I just do some comparison on Phonak & Re-2
and I found that Phonak got a more sweet high n mid n RE2 got analytical treble..
Phonak's bass is better than RE2

Kinda unfair, considering Phonak is at least 3 times more expensive than the RE2  tongue.gif But yeah, surely RE2 is excellent value for money. The bass leaves a lot to be desired, but highs and mids are just lovely  smile.gif
*
yaya excellent value of money for only 49 USD.
Actually i test it wif Radiohead - No Surprises (Flac)
Phonak got a sweeter high on the beginning of the song (instrument) but RE2 sounds more accurate 4 me..
juz Re2 bass quantity is light compare wif Phonak

QUOTE(chingwooi @ Jun 12 2009, 5:07 am)

Haha, sometimes OT a bit nvm one ma. Coz I think IE8 is a very gd IEM so I'm trying to drag someone to join the IE8 league tongue.gif You can consider it as budget earphone in long run coz once you get those top universal IEMs, ur hunger will be eased and you will no longer spend more money for other IEMs(except for certain persons though  whistling.gif )

P/S: Is Bose QC2/3 a gd headphone? From the reviews, some says it's gd, others say it sounds like cheap headphone xD
*
haha.. really it is a budget earphone in the long run.. but tat time i think i will hunger for more sweat.gif sweat.gif

but I think i more prefer BA.. UM3X.. haha

re2 is shy on basss??

yep.. bass lite..
I think very hard to compare wif ur Future Sonics Atrio M5 tongue.gif tongue.gif

QUOTE(killz23 @ Jun 13 2009, 03:24 PM)
Hahaha, I like that! "Everyday save 10bucks 4 months later can get one".hahah..4 months later, I bet customized IE8 or something wil come out..haha..Money money money..heheh

The iphone 3G S comes out around 19th of June! haha..Makes the older 3g so much cheaper now..About USd 99 only for 8gb..haha..

I'm looking at this amp, xhead headphone amplifier..Anyone heard of it before? Any reviews?

I've tried RE2, and, if I may say, I was utterly disappointed with the performance.. Maybe I'm not used to the sound sig yet because I've been using KSC 75, senn HD 212 Pro and HD 555..So when I switched to a more analytical type like RE2, everything seemed neutral and flat. I didn't like it, not one bit..I prefer a bit more coloration to the sound, and defnitely more fun-sounding headphones..haha..

My friend tried it too, and didn't like it. He went on to get 1 JVC HARX700 for a great price! He's loving it now..I should've gotten 1 myself when someone on Headfi was selling for 25USD only!!!!! Damn! He didn't reply me, so i waited till next day..But the moment i checked my account, he sold it off dy. Damn...

At first, when I received My RE2.. I was totally shock.. How come I cant feel any bass at all (compare wif EP 630)..
After burn in about 80 hours, now become better abit..
I like to use it to listen Celine Dion, Olivia ong those song.. laugh.gif laugh.gif
I also let my friend tried it.. He like it very much and he said the bass is like clear bass type

Since you've Fiio E5, I think weak bass won't be a prob anymore. The E5 boosts up the bass a lot, at least for the Klipsch Custom-3.
*
I tried it b4.. the soundstage become narrow & the sounds like darker..
honesty I dont like it.. Therefore My E5 only pair wif EP630 (sometime basshead) haha

erm..Sony? lol i know Sony is kinda unpopular here. =P

I have this MDR-EX35LP (around RM70~RM80 i think) which i find the isolation and comfort is pretty good. Clarity is so-so much but bassheads won't be disappointed with the bass-level, tho it can be a little bit muddy at times.

I never tried EP630 before so dunno how they compare.
*
I will put in consideration. thanks

QUOTE(chingwooi @ Jul 18 2009, 07:47 PM)
Yea, I can assure you that the JBL will outperform ur EP630, although the bass is not so strong but it's in control. Mids and highs no doubt the JBl is better than the 630, however, the weakness is that i think it's impedance is quite high so you will need to push the volume higher a bit. around 75% when I'm using it on my iPod touch.
*
Actually i am not satisfied with that bass and that is the reason I wanna to buy a new one.
pairing with meizu is okay bcos can adjust the bass but pairing with ipod shuffle is like sweat.gif sweat.gif

Hmmm, I realized u're using iPod shuffle 1st gen rite? The iPod family is ady not very gd in term of SQ and yet the shuffle is said to hv the worst SQ of the iPod series. Sry to say this but it's true. Also, the bass while pairing with iPod won't be strong one even with my Sennheiser IE8, because I tried the Sennheiser IE8 on the Sony S series jus now and I did notice a huge increased in the bass.
*
haha.. sorry is my mistake
is ipod 2gen 1gb.. lol
btw got some research stated that 1 gen ipod shuffle is the best sq among those ipod.. donno true or not

I like PL11 (~RM60) + E5 combo for the bass. I think JVC HA-FX33 (~RM50) Kramer Mod has good trebal and bass (excellent value).

Btw, I think basshead would not appreciate PL20.
*
Do u audit the others b4 like Soundmagic PL11, JBL reference 220, and Sony IEM?
n where to find that JVC HA-FX33? thanks

long time no people update this thread already..
Recently I tried Fiio E3 and I found out that E3 is more bass boost than E5..
If ur IEM is bass light, u may try that..

DOn't forget JBL haha. Superb nice IEM at that price, to me at least, it sounds like a Rm200++ IEM. Way better than the EP630 for sure, 830 not sure coz nvr try it xD
*
JBL reference 220?
When I first time listen, I was shock.. Why an IEM got wow effect sweat.gif sweat.gif
vocal laid back, cant listen clearly..
After burn in abt 80 hours, that wow effect not so heavy.. vocal come front abit but still lose to EP 630
however, if compare wif detail and bass, EP 630 lose alot to JBL
N one more point, JBL is open type IEM so when i use on LRT, i still can hear some noise.. smile.gif smile.gif
