Strictly for product / still life macro, I think the 50mm f2.8 macro should do very nicely. i saw someone selling one for RM750 (Minolta, used) over at alphanatics a while ago. not sure if it is still available or not....

I need some assistance
Actually I can trial and error... but some opinions would be nice for my cuckoo brain biggrin.gif

Nowadays when I shoot people, I tend to use flash all the time (HVL-F42AM)
For indoors I use WB 5300 because the flash WB is 5300 - the colours produced are superb
For outdoors in the shade, the same WB 5300 also produce the same colours

However, under the sun with WB 5300, I get a yellow tint, basically the photos look yellow.

Which WB should I try the next time I shoot people with flash under the sun?

I thought under bright sunlight, the WB should be around 5800k? Not really sure. Give it a try. smile.gif

no need adaptor
if you see the link I gave you, just as long it says "Sony Mount", means no need any adapter
Tamron is what we called a 3rd party lens

Woi!! I heard my name ler....

visigoth90: Wokeh! As I would normally do, I would recommend the SAL18250 over the SAL18200 and the Tammy 18250 and Tammy 18200 and Sigma 18200.

It's a nice all-in-one lens. Great for travel, outdoors. For indoors, use flash ler... hehe...

It's not a macro lens so if you wanna do macro, should look at dedicated macro lens but it's useful for close-ups.

Link to my flickr in my signature.... if you wanna see pics. Some taken with my only other lens - the KM 50mm F/1.7 but all exifs intact.

just my noob comment:

Sunlight should be around 2600k~2800k if i`m not mistaken...

since ur flash is 5300k, the penetration of 5300k is weaker than 2600k..which means the sunlight will still penetrate through some of your 5300k rays.

ok, now to camera setting, i`m unsure how the camera works but:
Try lowering ur WB to 5000k or 4800k? ( i assume that ur light source now will be lesser than 5300k due to penetration of yellow rays from the sunlight.

correct me if i`m wrong, noob here....

no need adaptor...focusing wise..it has 2 mode..1 is full range..1 is limited range(faster)...but 99% of the time im using manual focusing bcoz both full and limited the speed is tooooo slow.. smile.gif
