You have a budget of RM4k.... nothing beats the image quality of Sony Carl Zeiss 16-80mm.

If you want a wider lens, you might wanna wait for Sony 10-24mm.

I doubt the CZ 16-80mm f3.5-4.5 IQ can beat the Tammy 17-50mm f2.8 in terms of sharpness at wide open.

as far as i know, cz 1680..cant support ff camera isnt it?...hey sal 16105 oso not bad rite?

Depends on what you need. If you need longer range but willing to sacrifice the big constant aperture, you may go ahead biggrin.gif

No such thing as front element is loose, the only issue about this lens is that some might suffer from Front or Back focusing problem. Just make sure you test kaw kaw before you buy. It's a very good lens with big aperture. smile.gif

any special method to test for front and back focusing problem??

woah, didn't know sony was gonna close 27 factories. that's quite alot, i wonder if that would affect prices - go up because 'limited editions' or go down because demand fall, most change to canon or nikon.

the zeiss may be hard to resist, but with the money you can probably get the tammy + a flash, i think that can be more practical then throwing all your money (assuming you have limited) to one lens alone.

the closed factories is for trinitron production, not alpha.

not having both of the lenses, but alredi tried both, and i vote for CZ1680 in terms of sharpness..sharp from f3.5 i can say..but tamron1750 got its own advantage, can open wide aperture, but soft at f2.8

Let me check if I can get u the comparison link.

And also I tell based on experience on my previous 17-50 and current cz 16-80. You may say I might got a lemon copy or whatever (btw brother albnok assisted me to inspect the lens from YL).
Reader out there may choose to believe or ignore it total.

Cheers......

The Tamron is sharp at 2.8, no doubt but the Zeiss capture more details if u crop at 100%.
