Yes. NCC people will ask you just to leave the phone. Battery, memory card and SIM card you keep, even the battery cover and stylus you keep.

Ooops, this was the reply to the post asking whether he/she should remove whatever when sending phone to NCC.

True but they do not need the memory card for them to repair the earpiece. I sent mine and was asked to remove everything except for the phone itself. I think they do not want to get blamed should anything happen to the memory card. Makes sense to me as we normally have tons of personal stuff stored in the memory card i.e. remember Edison and his lappie?

Yes, for earpiece problem, although I do not see any reason for a memory card or SIM for other problems too as I am sure the NCC fellas have sim and memory cards readilly available for testing. Battery maybe not for all cases, probably make sense to leave the battery if it's a power related issue tongue.gif Anyway let's hope the 5800 major problems stop at the earpiece. Still not happy about the casing fit that allows light leakage though but for now still acceptable.

Yeah exactly but you have to remember for this phone's capability i recon its quite cheap. Besides the plastiky feel i have nothing else to complain, as for the light leakage on the top right of the screen i'd say nokia's insulation is rather redundant. You should open and see on your own. I saw it when i was DIY-ing my earpiece. The front camera and the prox meter are able to move as they are extended from the mainboard, thus leading to light leakage frm the back LED as those two parts are not fixed to be permanent position under the case. It get locked in position when you close shut the front case, light lrakage can still DIY but it might take some time, as for me i dont really bother bout it nymore bro nod.gif

i m quality control guy, from human eyes pespective, if u look at the defect every day u will find it very obivious. Just leave it along and dont look at it. Trust me u will feel better. biggrin.gif if it does not affect the form, fit , function of the product with small gap is still accepted for me.

Agreed, I don't really look at the light leakage anymore too. Other than that, I'm very satisfied with the phone even with the minor software glitches every now and then. I use is as a GPS just the other day and was well satisfied (I even bought a car charger for this as GPS drains the battery in no time flat). As for all the other functions, so far so good, no complaints. thumbup.gif
