06, 07 wiper mounting is different with the 08 and the latest. Look closely. The wiper mounting and the wiper is more nice design compare the normal one that latest civic having now.

But the problem is, no silicone wiper in the market for the old design. sad.gif

i see... then mine is 08 batch.
After some research, I think PIAA VERA suitable for Civic 08 onwards.

Other than PIAA, any other choice?

If you no confident the replacement and worry get the wrong 1, you can go to accessory shop to change. GC in uptown/sunway/tebrau, quicksave usj, kl auto in kl and autosaver in sunway is familiar with civic model. And no problem recommend you 1.

hi most problem found in fd's i think are

1. steering assembly/hose/rack - do try to turn the steering with engine on n notice if anything funny sounding laugh.gif repair cost for these are up to 1.2k

2. engine mounts - test drive it n take notice when start to drive got some kinda sound also. repair cost around 1k

these prob are super popular on earlier up to 07 batch ( mine included DX ) dunno bout 08 but worth to check em out

at 40k that car will need to undergo it 1st major service.. rm800+ at HSC icon_idea.gif

My 2006 fd1 got both...but not serious so i din even bother..once in a while only will hear the noise when engaging D. tongue.gif

Sound proofing, but not exactly economical depending on material. Whole car I think need to spend 1K min and more than 2K if done extensively.
But one thing you cannot soundproof is the front and back windscreens lah, so no matter what there will be sound from there especially if raining.

Another is to change tyres, but the effect is depending on what tyre models. My recent change from PP2 to PS3 makes a big big difference in terms of noise level. PP2 is really noisy lah.

Most economical way is to.... turn your music volume really really loud. Guarantee cannot hear other noise tongue.gif

Anyone got recommendation on where to do nice number plates? I've not seen this carbon type design, but I've seen some nice materials before that makes the letters kinda "floaty" and the white is so white, almost as if got light from it. Quite nice.

Does anyone have a Civic FD Hybrid in here? My friend's hybrid has a K.O'ed battery after only 1.5 years of use (although he's covered damn near 50,000km in that time).

Anyone else facing this problem? Thankfully, still under warranty, so Honda Malaysia has agreed to replace the battery. Otherwise, it'd burn a RM10k hole in his pocket.

Yeah; the Civic Hybrid has a 1.3 powerplant and is assisted by an IMA electric motor (that has a battery). During hard braking, the battery will charge, and upon hard acceleration, the battery will power a motor to give extra power/torque.

going to change my PP2 to Hankook V8RS which is more comfort and silent... acording to the forumer feedback... not sure how true is it.. but the price for it quite fit my budget.. which is RM300/pcs... smile.gif
not afford to get PS3 although it is in my top wishlist... drool.gif
plan to go some minor soundproof in future.... maybe for the obvious tyre part..... smile.gif

What is the caused of the k.o battery?

Yeah last time the price of the battery is 12k now reduced to 10k already . It will need replacement every 10 years that is the lifetime of the battery pack.

If k.o within 1.5 years it should covered the warranty . Lucky honda agreed to replace it f.o.c

Recommended for hybrid ppl don't mod ur car with sound system and touch the wiring system otherwise might fakap the car itself

PP2 is a performance tyre. I still love this tyre althrough it noisy after getting wear.

Your PP3 still new right? So can't tell will it noisy or not. Any new tyre sure noise level is low. Anyway, my next new tyre wishlist is PP3 too. icon_rolleyes.gif

Walau. scary. sweat.gif If the battery kong after 3yrs which the warranty expired, that is a big hole in the pocket. Eventually no money is save even the car initial cost is cheap.

So far, Honda don't have a track record how long the battery can last. Everything is still new.

I rather wait and see before jump into the hybrid car.

My friend's Civic Hybrid is completely stock. Warranty of the battery follows the warranty of the car, so 3 years.

We asked about the cause of the problem (as we wanted to know how to avoid this problem in the future) but the Honda SC we went to was not able to give any reason/root-cause for the issue. There's another 1.5 years left to the warranty so let's hope the battery either:
1. Keeps strong
2. Dies off after 1.4 years laugh.gif

Even it kong after 3yrs, it still look bad for this honda hybrid. When people start to folk out rm10k to replace the battery, I believe Honda can pack their hybrid car back to japan. Bad thing spread fast.
