Adding on :: cars are a depreciating asset, 2nd hand cars even more so . >.< 9 yrs loan to get a 2nd hand car. i feel is a wrong move. btw, does civic yr08 1.8 worth RM90k++ (but high millage)? or take the new vios or city better? QUOTE(ozak @ Apr 3 2010, 12:14 AM) Not just the tyre side. During raining, the rooftop too very noisy. nop. he using michelin PP2 215/45. is it the same as well?Is your relative's car using 17" pp1 michelin tyre? It is a performance tyre and in a noisy side. Once it start to wear, it get noisy alot. You can soundproof the whole car. There is some soundproof material in the market. Some workshop did do this soundproof. regarding on the soundproof, how much it will cost roughly?? any recommendation on some more silent type tyre? budget one.. so that nex time when wanna change can consider it.... Added on April 5, 2010, 12:56 pm Normal people who's driving daily don't understand what is performance and don't require it. What they want is cheap and quiet tyre only. It is very annoying with a loud noise from tyre and the road. After all they not race evveryday. Have you notice that first batch of civic is all 16" NCT5 good year tyre. This is normal budget trye. But don't know what reason HM change the 2.0 to 17" PP1 michelin. Want price increase?
agree with u... i jt wan more comfort drive.... as i also feel quite "shock" when driving it... civic 2008. the tyre sound is so loud and i vy uncomfortable with it(currently i driving the SEG AE101-using the continental normal tyre) and i do feel that my old seg is better still in terms of the tyre sound insulation... if i change the tyre, will it be better?(but not so soon la)..... is altis better in terms of this tyre soundproof? |

QUOTE(RedsInHell @ Apr 5 2010, 06:08 PM) bought 10/2007, latest one, 8th is it? but before the new face-lift release. Can face-lift only be considered new gen? oh really ah... then should be the design itself didn't emphasize on the tyre part soundproof. it is more on performance purpose... & agree with that noisy sound problem. my sis city has better, quitter environment. Also when you're closing the door, city's feel heavier, locked in more 'kemas'. Changed the tyres to dunlop, still no improvement. jt bought a yr08 civic from my relative.... when 1st time driving was quite shock on the tyre sound coz act me and my family more on comfort style driving... thats why wondering that there is other optional way/tyre which can reduce the tyre noisy sound(except doing soundproof- too expensive)... |

QUOTE(ozak @ Sep 7 2010, 12:32 PM) The power steering hydrolic pump will draw some HP. That is why you will see some rpm drop for a while. It is normal. but my mechanic told me that even performance iridium spark plug also cost the most only RM80 each. and Honda one cost rm100/pcs. what make's the different between them? just curious.... Original civic from factory is using iridium spark plug which cost over rm100/pcs. Of course 4pcs is around that price. You can use other type too to cost down. What good about iridium spark plug, pls google. If your civic over warranty period, try outside service lah. You have the choice. btw, last 95k service, the SC told me that my car's brake pad almost tear off... left around 20%pad... and he told me to change a pair of the pad cost around RM500!!!! and i ask my friend's how much is the ori brake pad and the costing only around RM200 per pair... so huge diff the price between Honda SC and outside..... so i might just change it outside... any recommendation for my Civic? please help.... for normal usage only but must reliable... not spiritual driving style... QUOTE(masamura @ Sep 7 2010, 08:36 PM) Bro, here's the thing la. Those SC people you see are also salesmen ok? They also have a monthly sales target to hit. Why do you think they tell you all those bullshit stories? How often do you need to change a spark plug? Usually after 10,000 km. If you change to iridium, you can at least go to 20,000km but sometimes even 50,000km. thanks for prompt reply... As for break pads, go to a open road where no cars are around and do an emergency brake. See how far your skid line is and if it's lesser than 1.5 seconds for a 60km/hr e. brake, you are fine. You can see the calculation here http://www.harristechnical.com/articles/skidmarks.pdf but since yours is 95k, you probably need one ... unless you changed recently. and just wan to gather some info... how many of civic user here already change ur battery till now ? the SC also claim that my battery not in good condition alr... |

Added on September 8, 2010, 1:59 pm Hear the sound of the every morning start engine. When your motor kick start the engine in weak sound, prepare a new battery. But not neccessary change. If you don't know how is the sound, get a new battery and start your engine. How you takecare your battery?
I thought all civic equip with maintenance free battery? btw, can i use the normal type of battery(wet) bcoz i feel that those maintenance free type not last that long compare to wet one... @yeehau86: NGK Iridium IX can last for 100k ? let say normal usage. Added on September 8, 2010, 3:46 pm QUOTE(ZeroSP @ Sep 8 2010, 03:05 AM) i check the price.... the ULTRA one cost ~RM640.. standard one RM180... is the standard better that ori stock one ? QUOTE(ZeroSP @ Sep 8 2010, 05:07 PM) Take the 550 degree one... More than enough... Even standard one also beat normal OEM to hell... Performance 550°C cost ~rm320. The 550 degree did beat all those project MU and brands during its testing stage... You can ask around forums, there are many users so satisfied with the pads and the price... Even Karamjit Singh. if budget around rm200, any other good suggestion else? |
