I think interest is depending on banks also. For major banks (eg. Maybank, Public Bank), it's normally higher while less prominent ones (eg. EON, Affin) can normally offer lower.
2.79 is not too bad actually, but 2.35 is out of this world. r3kahsttub, betul kah got so low? Seems too far below market place. Quote from SA or from bank? Too bad I just bought also. zoomckng, your story sounds very similar to the one I just heard today. So coincident. Just to be sure, white Accord with Negri number? |

yes, i'm sure t&cs apply. last i asked, banks seemed to favour 7yr loans more than 5 or 9yr loans (i.e. 7yr loans had marginally lower interest rates). it could also be the case that a particular model has not met its annual sales quota yet, so some incentives are being offered(!). as an example, i think a vw beetle is being offered with a 1.x% interest for a 5 year loan iirc.
@ub3rg33k: that rate was quoted to me by my SA. |

went to get my brakes checked out today, at my service center. had my brake pads changed for free. slight vibration also when idle suspect from the air-cond; have to schedule this for another day as they need to let the car cool down to have it checked.
also, saw a banner stating the interest rate is 2.35% with t&cs. forgot to ask about this on my way out. |

hi fellow civic owners,
would like to get some opinion from you guys. I'm planning to get a (2nd hand 2.0 civic yr06 - Rm90k+/- interest rate 4%+) or getting (new hybrid honda civic 1.3 due to interest rate n warranty - Rm107k new price if not mistaken with 2%+ interest rate).. Since the above mention car is relatively similiar in terms of pricing, I would like to know which would be a better choice for FC & Power. Btw I own another smaller car suzuki swift, jz planning to get another car as a family car.. thanks. |

@askm3: i think the answer to your question is very straightforward. without a doubt, the 2.0 civic would have much better power than the 1.3 hybrid. in return, the hybrid should also have much better fuel consumption that the 2.0 civic.
ultimately, you have to ask yourself if this will be your primary or secondary car. if fuel consumption is important, and you're getting this as a primary car, then i think the hybrid will yield better results. bear in mind that a new hybrid will have the 3yr/100,00km warranty and the '06 2.0 will not. |

i don't know where your hometown is; the hybrid can easily get 550km on a full tank of petrol, whilst driven aggressively. this isn't possible on the 2.0/1.8 civic. and no, it runs fine on ron95 petrol.
