Hi guyz.. I realize something weird with my 2.0s RPM.

Whenever I drive at 90km/h the RPM will at 2000rpm (5th gear)

Sometimes I drive at 90km/h the RPM will at 2400-2500rpm and it will slowly drop to 2000rpm with consistant 90km/h.

anyone can tell me how it works?

It's called torque converter lockup. Once your car is moving at a constant speed, the torque converter is locked, allowing the car to cruise in its highest ratio (5th gear). When in 5th gear and the rpm is at 2400-2500 rpm, the torque converter is still slipping to generate enough torque to get the car to a constant speed. It's like a manual car, if you half-clutch it the rpm is higher even though you're in a certain gear, generating higher torque.

You might also notice that when your TC is locked up at 2000 rpm and you press the throttle to go just a bit faster, the rpm goes up again to 2400 plus. The TC is then disengaged from lockup.

The best way to look after your gearbox and get the best FC is to try and cruise in TC lockup mode. You don't need 2000 rpm to engage lockup. If you drive at a constant 70km/h, the GB will initiate lockup at around 1550 rpm.

Yup... You might notice when you going up hill at a certain gear, lets say 3rd gear at a appropriate speed of 40KM/H, on normal road you will get 1800RPM, but when you going on hill, the RPM will go up to 2000-2100RPM...

erm.. that day i went back my gf's hometown..
i cruising along the LEKAS highway.. and i set the auto cruise at 160km/h and running smooth, when come to the end of the highway or somewhere around Seremban there, there is a uphill, erm.. it auto cruise up to 5.5 - 6k rpm >.<" in order to maintain the 160km/h.. like that will hurt my engine ar? >.< cause i dint stop the cruise control and let it run nia.. ^.^

It won't hurt your engine unless you always die-die oso wanna maintain 160km/h during uphill runs lol. But it will hurt your FC

I heard for the leather can install with price around RM3k+, signal light at side mirror with less than RM1k.

However, I'm not sure how much does auto cruise cost or possible to install auto cruise or not
