from their FAQ (http://corporate.u.com.my/docs/NewRatesFAQ.pdf)

QUOTE
Our rates have not been increased, in fact they have been lowered. We have only changed our rating blocks; from per second to 30-sec in order to be in line with other industry players.

lol, last time when umobile promoted their 1s billing, lots of ppl didnt like it cuz they were complaining it's ridiculous and if summed up to 30sec/60sec block, overall charge is higher.

now umobile standardized their charging block to 30sec so that it is easy for users to compare apple-2-apple with others.

well, it's not easy to please the whole market biggrin.gif

U Mobile to ride on DiGi's EDGE network

QUOTE
3G operator U Mobile has signed a 3-year domestic roaming agreement with DiGi that would allow U Mobile subscribers to roam on DiGi's EDGE network.

The agreement makes DiGi an exclusive provider of domestic roaming traffic services for U Mobile. U Mobile officials mentioned that they will only begin riding on DiGi’s EDGE networks after the domestic agreement with Celcom ends. Due to confidentiality reasons, U Mobile wasn’t able to disclose the exact date but it’s believed to be some time next year.

U Mobile signed a domestic roaming agreement with Celcom in 2007, however the agreement is limited to voice and SMS only. The roaming agreement with DiGi will allow U Mobile subscribers to enjoy voice, SMS and data services (GPRS/EDGE) nationwide including seamless hand-over of voice calls from U Mobile’s 3G network to DiGi’s 2G network.

lol it's a program for existing customers smile.gif better than nothing la

hmm, cheaper call rates? i thought the "refreshed" call rates already competitive mahh.

there won't be any telco giving ultra-ultra-low call rates without making any money. there must be a break-even point to offer such rates.

for example: Digi. they offer great rates for Digi-to-Digi calls. i got lots of Maxis/Celcom frens, calling them on digi still not the cheapest.
