collect my seagate 500gb today after send to RMA, i see they give me the SD1A firmware... hope nothin goes wrong after this biggrin.gif if not then ill throw this drive to dusbin tongue.gif

wouldn't know for sure, let's see how it goes in these few months
if u update your firmware, ur HDD might have a better chance of surviving

its been few hours, no problem
it's up to you whether wanna upgrade or not
i upgraded because of high failure rate of SD15, my HDD has a better chance with SD1A

Juz now only update my HDD after reading alot of positive comments..Still i got a question here..After the frimware update my pc turned off itself..Izz it normal???

should turn off by itself after you hit any key after the "Power Cycle bla bla bla, hit any key to continue"

Just wanted to report a successful firmware update. Mine is the an ST3500320AS.

Even though this HDD lasts, I will not buy another Seagate HDD...until WD screws up. tongue.gif

i think i've update my hdd..
but i cant check my firmware..
use drivedetect and seatools..
neither of it cant detect the firmware..
but i can access to the data..
just cant see the firmware..
dont know why..
before update also like this..


Added on January 23, 2009, 2:09 ammy hdd is not updated yet..

if your other hdd is not seagate the update will just skip it, otherwise to play safe, better unplug it

TS should put up on "HOW TO" update firmware in the 1st post so that other people can know the correct method..
