The S series and the X series, which of them has better SQ I wonder? I had tried the S series and the SQ is gd, but when I was about to try the X series, it ran out of battery after listening about 3 secs... What a bummer

What a bummer good point. it would be a fair comparison if both are running on the same song file, same earphone/headphone to judge the difference in SQ between both models. |

The s-master digital amplifier should give the X series somewhat an edge over the S series in SQ.

Functions wise, Sony still hv to brush up a lot in order to compete with iPod touch.Added on July 21, 2009, 8:30 pmbut the SQ is definitely better than bloody ipods |

Just got my X from alex yesterday. 1st impression, this player rox!!
Comparison btw X and my ex-s739: 1. The sound. S7 seems to be quite digital, it is good without doubt but just not so natural sounding. Whereas the X, even thou the sound is not as 'loud' as the S7 but the sounding is so natural and the sound stage is a 'wow'. 2. The screen. Without a doubt, OLED is much more superior. 3. The feel. X is like a piece of rock and S7 is a piece of metal, both are superbly solid. jus that the X more suitable for my palm size. One more thing i realize is that the X's NC earphone doesnt comes with a small metal piece, not like the S7. I tried to plug into a normal audio in, surprisingly, it sounds! |

Are you thinking of replacing your iPod Touch? or adding another player to your 'collection'?

hey guys had a chance to checkout the new Sony X1060b a few days back & i must say its pretty nice as a media & music player. dont quote me now but i think SQ's better than S6/7xx series but its kinda to tell just spending 15mins or so. teh display is prolly one of the best in the market.
however IMO i still dont think its gonna displace the touch anytime soon though. music aside, theres just too much support for the touch -over 20k apps/games available- plus apples multitouch screen with safari is unbeatable for a PMP net experience. personally as much as im a gadget freak, i wouldnt buy one primarily becos its laaarge coin & too 1dimensional for me that is. the chinese AMP3 mp3 player is what i'd get as a pure music player while the touch will do me for everything else. where i am, i can get a slightly used 32gb touch for almost 1/2 of the X1060. eeeek! LOL |
