oh yea people, anyone tried to use the NC020 bundled with X series on other players? was wondering how good it sounded compared to other earphones of similar level, say Bijou?
*
The NC020 is not that nice sounding actually. The bass is over bloated and the sounding is just dull. I've tried my fren's bijou, it is at least 1-2 level higher than NC020. In my opinion, it is a bit better than EX71 only. biggrin.gif

Hehe, so the Sony X series did sound better than the S series after all, I wonder how it stands up against Zune and Creative  hmm.gif
*
For X vs zune.
1. Both sound signature are different. Zune is on the warm side while the X is on the bright side but still not as bright as the S7 series. In comparison to my zune30, X offer more customization, e.g EQ. U can tweak the sound according to ur preference while zune's EQ is limited, some might feel that the sounding is too warm.
2. Sound stage. Obviously the X has wider soundstage compare to zune. It is more fun listen to X compare to zune.

For my preference, i prefer X>/=zune>S7 series rclxms.gif

I will go collect it tomorrow biggrin.gif   rclxm9.gif  finally  rclxm9.gif

So do any of you have also got yours? jasonlimjc , you will finally got your rclxms.gif

Sorry for my late reply. Was out of internet connectivity for nearly 2 months. I got mine on that very same day as well. In fact, I rushed down town immediately after I've received their call. Haha tongue.gif

So far I'm truly impressed by my X1050. It rocks hard time with its sound quality being exceptionally astonishing, as claimed by most quarters. Money well spent! thumbup.gif

i can't really compare with other brands cos all my walkmans from cassette to md to cd have always been a sony. but my opinion of it is: cool.gif sound quality is superb especially with the noice cancelling earphones thumbup.gif & the display screen is just the right size for a portable player IMO.. any bigger it'd be bulky. the NW-A808 is slightly smaller and thinner but the NWZ-X1060's physical size is acceptable. the pictures practically pop rclxms.gif i think i can see a slight improvement compared to the NW-A808. no problems at all with mp3 & mp4 playback

what i don't think is up to par is the www bit. it takes quite a while to search and load especially when youtubing. typing the urls is almost a nightmare. it's like using my phone to surf the net.. or worse.. hmm.gif i dunno.. think i'll just stick to computers for surfing. maybe it's better to have bluetooth rather than wifi on the X. then i can just BT the player to my fm transmitter in my car without having to remove the earphones to plug it in. i don't really like the media manager that comes with it.. cos it doesn't allow me to edit my video titles unless i go pro (some titles still appear weirdly eg have underscores etc even after i've edited the titles before loading.. no problem with mp3 titles tho) they should just give it free cos the player is pricey enough as it is. another thing is it's really slow to load (or maybe it's just my computer) so i just drag and drop now. i also hate that the hold button is behind and not at the side.. it's pretty inconvenient when the player is in the leather cover cos i'd have to unplug the earphones to slide the player out of the cover to reach the hold button. my options are either keep doing that or not use the cover (but sayang lo if scratch) or forget the hold button (but i'm bound to tertekan the side buttons).

my cons paragraph seems longer than the pros paragraph so u might think i don't like the X but on the contrary, i don't regret getting it at all. so yeah.. i'm no techie so i can't be more specific.

icon_question.gif for those of you who has the X1060, can i ask for a favour? this will sound silly but can u upload the sample pictures (the ones with the overwater chalets & beaches & wallpaper) and the demo video (especially the city lights one) for me?

Web browsing with the X is not that bad. IMHO, it is better than my my Nokia 3120c and Motorola V3xx's browser. At least, I can browse my favorite websites in bed, before going to sleep. Yes, I agreed, the texting is nightmare. Other than music listening function, I also using the Podcast feature. I regularly updated several podcasts, such as TWiT, Scientific American and Engadget. I listened it during commuting or when I am bored smile.gif.

Movies? I converted several movies and animes to mp4 format without any problem. The screen is good and not too glary. In term of video capability, my cheap backup PMP, the MWalker Nebula can plays video files. flv, wmv, avi, rmv without any conversion. Somethome cheap does not mean bad. O, BTW, this cheap PMP also can play NES and GB game's ROMs smile.gif, cool, but, I am not big fan of gaming.

Anyway, it is a good DAP, and eventhough not many bell and whistle.

Yes, no comparison with iPhone/Touch in term of software. Sony's main theme for X is, to make the BEST Walkman ever, in term of SQ and other physical quality. So, the X real competitors are the other Walkman's series it self smile.gif.

I don't see why would one even compares between X-series and iPhone, since X-series is a dedicated music player and not a phone.

Based on a brief and limited audition, the Zen X-Fi is not that bad. The sound signature is quite similar Samsung YP-S5 with DNSe Clarity enabled, bright and lively. The buttons are quite awkward and need to get used to it. In other words, the Zen's sound signature is different from the X's, and up to the users to choose. smile.gif

Prob is Creative doesn't support Mac, I'll hv to install a 3rd party software in order to do the transferring, pretty troublesome if you've seen how I hv to do it xD The prog doesn't allow me to transfer video and pictures as well sad.gif
