still stuck with the current Walkman series design.... Unless they wanna revolutionise things, the design should be further refined.

Should've take the pricetag in as well.
Tried it, might still prefer iPod Touch interface. Didn't tried the music playback though.

yup, significant difference as i use media monkey to transfer around more than 10 full set album last wk, walk away make cup of coffee, came back already finish.  rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif

wow that's consider quite fast.
I think the transfer rate for my S series is consider OK using WMP 11, faster than I initially thought. haven't really try to load in GBs of tracks and calculate the time. I expect X series perform at better, if not similar rate than S series.

Haha your specs are wrong. Where u get it?
WMV should be included in the file format.
I was confused because some revies said it support AVI.

Isn't a gadget can support avi format whenever it can support wmv format?
*
unfortunately Walkman players don't support much of the common video formats.
you would have to convert those formats to WMV and then load it into the player.

Thanks guys for the info about MTP and about the confusion to remove our sony walkman safely tongue.gif

I read in the manual that we can charged the battery approximantely 500 times b4 it becomes useless.
But evertytime we want to transfer data, we will charge our walkman, isn't this will make our battery won't last long?

Can someone comfirm this for me, if a mp4 player support video format DivX3 4/5 and XviD3, it can play .avi video format or not?
One of my make friends confuse me by saying that if it can play wmv, a player can also play avi because avi is old format of wmv rclxub.gif
If i know x-series can't play avi, i will buy the creative zen x-fi. Way cheaper and lots of features cry.gif (or ipod touch also cheaper by rm 60)

I have found out my x-series cannot play .avi format and almost all of my videos are in this format.
Any suggestion for a good video converter software? Right now i'm using Any DVD Converter Professional 3.7.5. Portable.

AVI is not WMV. both are different video formats.

in order to have X series play your .avi videos, have to convert it to WMV. you can do so by using Windows Movie Maker, bundled together with Windows since XP.

just a friendly reminder for those who plans to convert video formats to WMV.

remember to set the screen ratio to 16:9 when converting. you can set it at Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> Video Aspects.

also, set better quality when exporting the video. there are a few quality options to choose from the list when exporting it.

Do you guys consider video playback/support an important factor when buying a dap?

Just wondering what do you guys think.
*
nope, for me the music playback is more important than video. but anyway if the screen is big enough, having video playback function is no harm. is not that i would watch videos all the time on it.
i do appreciate some useful tools like clock, calendar such.

maybe Sony thinks that their DSEE is great enough to turn 128kbps MP3 sounded as good as 1411kpbs WAV eh....

i can only noticed the slight improve over the sound when I turn the DSEE on playing 96kbps MP3.

talk about demo unit, the one I tried out doesn't have any songs, videos and pics at all. it's silly.... just for people to try touch the player and not testing the functionality.
btw i tried out at BicCamera Ikebukuro, Tokyo.

yaya. for example, the Japanese S730F series comes with voice recording mode replacing the Intelligent Shuffle mode on our normal S730F series.

also, the Japanese Walkman seems like can't change to another language though. this applies to both S & X series that I came across so far.
