i just sent my phone to DU service center in the morning. Walked around the whole place looking for it =p
hopefully will be done soon. using HTC diamond now. XD

i now what i am asking is a bit troubleome, can somebody pm me the step-by-step guide on how to put the map for trekbuddy without the pictures showing up in the media? Should i install the .jad file or .jar, which one?

it doesnt rely on the installation. its the map.

when u dl the map, it's untar version rite?
beside the "untar version" folder there's a "maketar" file rite?
double click it and it will convert the untar version to tar version.
then, copy the tar version into ur phone and select the map from trekbuddy lo. =p

got one maketar.bat, i pressed but in says cannot locate file and aborted

after that where should i out the files? which folder in the phone and how to load it, sorry, cant understand the guide

oh...did u rename or moved ur "untar version" folder?
coz the maketar.bat needs the "untar version" folder in the same directory as it is.
Put the "untar version" folder in the same place as the maketar.bat then only double click it.

anyway, if successfully converted, copy n paste the whole "tar version" folder into your mem stick into the trekbuddy/maps folder.

then...launch trekbuddy and select "options-load atlas" then go to the maps folder and select the file there.

earpeace cant here at all..dial tones also cannot..huhu..

How its happen..
i got this phone yesterday, using it n ok can make a call recieve call..can here loud n clear..but when reach home..i try to switch the speaker to speaker phone(loud speaker)..its done marvelously..suddenly when i switch back to earpeace...cant here at all till now..

i hv to use bluetooth all the time..huhuhu...

anyway..can add me to the list..Cooper Gold one

hmm...urs is AP set right? try checking ur production week (on the sticker on ur phone under the battery.)
if its 08w50 or before that, then ur earpiece problem quite common. send to warranty ba... lol
if not, try updating ur firmware thru SEUS. might help.

yup ap set,PWeek is 08W46 have upadating to latest firmware..but still cannot laa..huhu

if u said it quite common..fuuhh lega skit rasa..need to back to the shop rite?hehe..

Added you into list, in addition to what ian has said, you should have tested it out first when you buy.

A note to what buyers should test on when buying a new phone:

Keypad
Joystick
Make a call, check for calling tone, the voice+volume of calls, loudspeaker, the inbuilt mic
Browse through the menu to see if there are any sudden lags

As for camera, alot of people don't know this:

You should flip open the lens cover, use your hand to cover the lens, so that the screen is completely black(blank) covered by your hand. This is to check if there are any dead pixels. By looking at a bright screen, its IMPOSSIBLE you can look for dead pixels. Therefore, that's the best way to check for dead pixels

Best you send it for warranty. 08w50 and before, the C905 got lots of problems. Your earphone no sound is 1 of the common problems.

Actually I bought original and checked all the features before paying. Too bad it had to die after software update (something undetectable simply by testing the phone briefly). So always make sure the warranty coverage is sufficient (both AP and authorized).

By the way, I read from here that there's a minor update already? Is it true? Checked back a few pages no real distinct discussion about it. What's the version?

Thats R1DA032 right? That update include a lot of new features. However, he mentioned its just an update for bug fix and has improved overall responsiveness.

yeah..have update the new firmware..really have smille detection..but not quite responsive..haha..too bad mine got problem with earpeace..
also the "6" keypad seem like goin to die..hehe..cannot feel the "click" like other number..

A few owners here have keypad problems like yours. I just recently got mine fixed in SE center. Lucky I bought original as they told me need to change 2 keypads underneath and it will cost 200+ for just changing the keypads. Not sure AP got cover this or not.
