Folding just got off a few years ago and it is catching up fast. Usually those elder ones are the ones who change from MTBs to foldies. There are some younger ones as well. Main reason is LRTs and Komuters now allows foldies to be carried into the train and this has opened up lots of trips to Ipoh, Taiping, Seremban etc. for some riding and holidaying without a need for car. Not to mention a lot of makan makan trips. tongue.gif

After using this for a few rides, I've noticed there is a disadvantage about this lever.

The coating on it is pretty smooth. Can be quite slippery and fingers may not grip properly when hands are sweaty
*
however smooth it is.. it should not be a problem as your fingers don't slide around the lever...

have you tried messing with the reach adjustment and bring it closer to the handlebar???

user posted image

it should be close enough that it doesn't obstruct your hands and far enough that your index and middle fingers can rest on it comfortably and not needing to stretch out too much trying to grab the levers...

last option is brake lever grips... but those just feel awkward... used to see them get made by lizardskins... but now not sure...

I also checked out XDS, Chevrolet and a few local brands. Really not worth it! Imagine paying RM850 for a XDS 260 and another RM300 will get you a really good Dahon. Furthermore those Taman bicycle shops, you cannot test ride. KHS is also nice  thumbup.gif
you're right... those brands sometimes makes bike that appeals by specing them with equipment that similarly priced known brands don't... but the equipment is of lower grade and risk reliability...

get the better brands if you can afford it or wait later and save up more.. rushing into it might get you into some regrets...

QUOTE(hsienhsien @ Nov 25 2012, 08:38 PM)
thanks for the suggestion guys, dahon is good brand but kinda out of budget sad.gif
what about these 2 guys , http://www.manygoodstuff.com/index.php?rou...t&product_id=71 &
http://bolujie.cl/
kalaq and bolujie, they look really stylish and cool, but the performance not sure >< really addicted by their outlook.
save up a bit more and then buy it then...

QUOTE(H2D @ Nov 25 2012, 09:07 PM)
bro, if budget right n u like , just buy it...
but those from sg u can't view the bike? or u wana go sg buy......
*
travel costs aside... you risk losing the support after bringing it back... things like derailleur hanger and some critical part might not be available in malaysia if it is not brought... just in case you break them.. you have to think of that...

350SGD is not actually very cheap isn't it...

I didn't know it can be brought nearer to the handlebar. At the moment the lever is quite far away that my fingers are not reaching it properly.

So when it is sweaty and road is bumpy I lose grip. Will try your suggested adjustments. Thanks

it's not good for the lever to be too far away because it will be hard to reach if you need to grab the brakes in case of emergency...

If let's say I wanna add more speed to my existing 10-speed

REAR SHIFTER: SHIMANO RAPIDFIRE PULS FOR 10-SP
R/DERAILLEUR: SHIMANO 105 SHORT CAGE, 10 SPEED
CRANKSET: ORI 56T 175MM W/CNC CHAINGUARD
CASSETTE: SRAM PG-1050 11~28T, 10 SPEED

I saw can x2, x3 for the front. What would be recommended for the front? Any matching shimano for 105? Do I have to change the crankset too?

Asking at the bike shop would normally result in opinion to their stocks or products they carry.

So I wanna ask opinions from riders instead of the seller smile.gif

Anyway, I'll slowly mod my bike. I don't think I want to upgrade new bike anytime soon. Also put aside price and functionality, I like the m10 design more than Ori's carbon frame. That said, carbon entry level is RM8k+ up to RM12k. How to buy... can do a lot with the money for mods and travelling rides... laugh.gif

The next thing I"ll change first would probably be the pedals. I saw some bikes has nice wans...

Nope. Mine is 26" folding bike.

Yeah, there are currently 2 official store that sell doppelganger products in Malaysia. (Found it on the doppelganger official website)

The stores are :

1) Chap Khoon Huat
24, Jalan SG 3/2, Taman Sri Gombak, Batu Caves, 68100 Selangor D.E., Malaysia

2) Dynamic Online Trading & Services Sdn. Bhd. <--- is this really a bicycle shop?
Lot 25, Jalan 4/32A,Mukim Batu Industrial Area,6 1/2 Miles Off Jalan Kepong,52000 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

This is the website in english : doppelganger

Though i find out the contents in english is a little bit lack compared to the ones in Japanese. Still, in can be usefull if you want to know about doppelganger
