mebe the local bike shop can help u mod, but lower front u will loose the speed.

did u put the seat very low?

i think cycle up slope, u raise the seat until the optimum height, then u might find it easier to cycle.

Stronger, Better, State of the Art

The OCL Joint is a new reference in folding frame technology. It includes two new patents and everything we know about making the safest, strongest, and most durable frame joint.

Taller, Stronger, Stiffer — Making the hinge taller and moving the pivoting surfaces outward from the center axis more than doubles overall strength and stiffness and it’s a difference you’ll feel from your very first ride. Every frame featuring the OCL Joint has been independently tested to exceed the EN safety standard by at least 50% (we stopped the machines after going past 50%).

NorGlide Bearings — The patented design puts sliding bearings between the moving parts so the folding action is always smooth and friction-free.

Interlocking Halves — Unfolded, the joint surfaces lock together to improve torsional stiffness.

Large, smooth lever — Large rounded surfaces are easy on your hands and give good leverage for easy operation.

AutoLok Technology — Close the lever and it automatically locks in place, for extra, easy security.

Floating Point Technology — Patented technology allows the lever to fold flat and brace against the joint for protection in transit.

Serviceable — Good things are made to last and that’s why the OCL Joint is designed to be fully dealer serviceable. We keep every part in stock and replacing the bearings can be done in five minutes.

Precision-machined — A machining tolerance of only 50 microns ensures a tight fit and eliminates looseness and rattling.

Stainless Steel Bolts — Cold-worked stainless hardware delivers the durability and reliability needed for daily riding.

i'm thinking to get one folding bike. Budget around 1.2k.
Saw 3 model from Dahon that able to fit my budget, Eco 3, Curve d3 and eco c7. Any feedbacks from these models?
or any model/brand and shop recommendation around PJ? =)

i think the difference is in the parts?
u can compare the specs in their website.
the curve D3 have 16' wheels, and looks like a kids bike, but the folded size is smaller.

can dahon bikes get cheaper in dealers besides rodalink. ?
not sure which bike shop in pj is dealer,
saw 1 in ss14 subang, u can check leruns' dealer website, they have listed all the bike shops.

you can try folding bike trading in Dsara perdana, they specialise in foldies. the lady isn't very technical but is honest but make sure they do a full bike check before the bike leaves the shop. 1.2k gets you an eco c7. but i advise spending a but more to get more speed and a replaceable RD hanger because the eco c7 has a fixed hanger, so if you break it, that its.

I'm not too sure if I'm able to fork out extra money for a better performance bike. cry.gif been spending money for house moving and that's the reason why I need a bike now as my next place is kinda hard to get public transport since I don't drive.
let say, my choice is c7, what's the better options than c7 but the price wont go much different with c7's price?
I've tried to google and most of you guys opt for 2k++ bike specs which I cant make it for my current budget. sad.gif

Went to My Bicycle Shop at Oasis BU4, Bandar Utama. Anyone got their bike from the shop? They have Dahon bike in their range as well. Will check out FBT later.
anyway, how;s the performance of Hummer, Mini Cooper etc ? like those sold in FBT

if wana get a good bargain, have to do homework lo... have to go and check out all the bikes n hunt them in the bike shops,
then u won't feel regret afterwards, for spending more etc.

bike shops tht is near KL PJ area always more $$$ for same model like hasa orbit element etc.
need to find those budget bike shop like the one in kepong, Klang.

those " car " brand bicycles, are always more $$$ than dahon i think, those are all OEM frm factory.

http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=46042310

this is the budget bike store. http://www.2fast-4u.com

if u can read chinese, u search for those " car " brand folding bike in taobao.com
u can see more pics than any website online, cos most bikes are made in china anyway.
taobao got shop sell expensive stuffs as well don't misunderstand, and they show u more pics of the product n specs than anywhere.

H2D,

yez you are right, sub bike below 1k , just the matter where do you get cheaper.

Added on October 27, 2011, 3:21 pmbut if you have extra few hundreds to top up, the riding pleasure will be totally difference, and you will have more fun to riding your bike instead of boring feeling with those cap pa lang brands, then end up in your store room.
This is true fact experience from one of my friend, at first bought a cap pa lang china bike for$750, rode for few times ,chuck it inside store room for the decade , when he test my bike later , he notice a big difference with the bike , now he searching for his 2nd bike. haha

Added on October 27, 2011, 3:31 pmSo, from my friend experience that give me some hints on searching my first new bike from 500 then 850 then 1200 then 1800 then end up 2k plus ,hahaha.

think wisely for your hard working cash.

piece of advice .

Ya gigigaga, I agreed what u mention. First I also want to purchase Dahon Eco c7 due to budget but scare later on will regret and last go for dash p18 because of the spec and quality of the bike.
