you can try folding bike trading in Dsara perdana, they specialise in foldies. the lady isn't very technical but is honest but make sure they do a full bike check before the bike leaves the shop. 1.2k gets you an eco c7. but i advise spending a but more to get more speed and a replaceable RD hanger because the eco c7 has a fixed hanger, so if you break it, that its.

QUOTE(H2D @ Oct 29 2011, 03:16 AM) ![]() ![]() claim to be made in taiwan, tons of it selling in Taobao, the kinetic wheels selling bout 1600RMB the other 20' about 1098RMB. u try emailing cyclopedia n ask them how much they sell, if u can find here, dun be surprise that the price will be much much more higher.. small wheel bike stuff are still consider 'no market' here in msia those business ppl won't sell them - yet? unless in SG or thailand. i would not hesitate to get it from taobao, if i really want it. |

QUOTE(Skinny01010 @ Oct 30 2011, 10:35 AM) Yeah, more gears. I like a wide range of gears. TERNs will be more expensive the Dahons. So if you like the Vector, buy it now why wait? 5k will buy you plenty of bike.Im interested in the Tern bikes. Especially the Verge x10. Seems like its 95% similar to the Dahon Vector x10. If its cheaper I may probably get it. Am liking the Verge P18 and x30h. But from what I've read, the earlier posts, the x30h is too expensive for me. |

QUOTE(H2D @ Oct 31 2011, 09:20 PM) hello, pujaya?! have to pay #$!#$!#%! toll to get there and there is no shade just tons of cement creating a heat island and some old man's dreamy version of old baghdad? save your money stay inside in kl and go cycling in the cooler shady confines of the lake gardens or metropolitan park with a great of the city skyline. all easy riding no i'm not from penang, i'm frm KL. those fotos were taken by Mr Sam, he is an avid folding bike rider who owns like 6 dahon folding bike. u can check him out on his blog samosaurus. from his info, he mentioned those Dahon on display are from "Chin Aik Kedai Basikal" u noe which shop is this? Lerun is the distributor of Dahon, if u can find bike shop tht sell lerun or polygon, then ask them if they can get Dahon, there are many dahon owners in PG, from the pics i've seen. here are the list of Lerun distributors, chin aik is in Carnavon street. http://www.lerun.com.my/shops-authorized-d...lau-pinang.html Added on October 31, 2011, 9:34 pm yo thanks for sharing the vid, those are brompton bikes from the UK, 1 brom duno can buy how many cheap BMX liao anyway, this shows that u can have fun on any bikes, the fold is just a function, don't try to make it like it is a special class. Added on October 31, 2011, 9:36 pm wonder if u crash a strida into something, of kena bang frm behind, will ur groin crash into the bar n crack ur nut ? Added on October 31, 2011, 9:49 pm just regularly browse the foldie, forum, sometimes samo will organize something, i saw ur nick there mostly cyclist likes to go to hulu langat, genting sempah, mcD there duno cycle where around the hills, FBT group oso got go for rides, u can join them in FB to get infos. for beginners if u don't mind go to putrajaya, it is a good n safe place to cycle away from traffic. esp if u wana take ur family along, wife n kids, or just to check ur fitness before goin for tougher hills. tht place is really under utilised, n if u curse cos ur tax money being used to built it, it is time tht u go there to use the place. for family joy ride, park ur car at the monument alaf baru, there are some shade, n oso there are free toilet just next to the car park, dun go n park near the masjid there, lotsa bus n tourist n no shade. frm there u can just cycle round the lake using the bike n jogging path, look at the houses of the civil servants, n look at the PM's palace, let of stim abit by @%^&* at the useless bridges, 1 round is about 10km ++ just nice for beginners, n family. all flat flat. |

QUOTE(roksta @ Nov 8 2011, 04:45 PM) Thanks H2D for the explanations, but i am a middle aged rider and all the jarring from uneven roads are causing pains on my arms and back. A front suspensions might absolve the shocks from uneven roads. Maybe i should change to a bigger schwalbe big apple tyres. At the moment i am riding a Dahon Dash P18 using a standard schwalbe kojak tyres. How long have you been riding the p18?P18 is a sweet bike, try changing the contacts point like your grips, handlebar and tires like fatter, low pressure ones like the BAs. or visit the Dahon section about getting the right fit for your bike. Or avoid uneven roads entirely? |

QUOTE(roksta @ Nov 9 2011, 12:07 AM) I have been riding the Dahon Vitesse D7 for the last two years and got the Dash P18 last month. Off course the Dash P18 is a stiffer and fast bike but it shakes and rattles when going fast over an uneven road. Maybe i am not use to it's stiffer body yet, as the Vitesse D7 has a more comfy ride. Anyhow i am trying to recce new routes with a smooth tarmac, but you can't get it anywhere in Petaling Jaya with a good long stretch. Even in Putrajaya, some portions of the roads are using printed concrete and pavers that make the ride so uncomfortable. haha! got p18 a month, saw a birdy terus mau upgrade! haha! sabar, next month Xmas come! bikes are always a balance of comfort and speed, more of 1 less of the other. easiest thing to do is tukar tyres, the fatter the better.if you are not oversized then you can run the tyres at the lower end of the range, have you tried that with the kojaks? if compactness is nor absolute must, then straight away upgrade those folding pedals to proper fixed pedals, the saddle to either a roadie saddle or a fizik gobi or the wtb rocket V, both will give you all day comfort without the energy sapping bouncy bouncy heaviness of the stock. beyond, anymore minute increase in performance will come at very high cost.

QUOTE(glozz @ Apr 12 2013, 06:59 PM) Good Day, find a good bike shop in europe and buy 2nd hand. why risk buy new here which is expensive and damaged by luggage handlers. anyway, which part of europe?Looking to buy 2 units of folding bikes to be brought alot when I move to Europe. The question is whether i should buy them here or in Europe? I'm looking for bikes that could handle mostly countryside riding as i intend to use them for travelling around on a train. Was thinking of getting a full 26" mountainbike which is able to fold, but any thoughts please? thanks. |

QUOTE(mbax @ Apr 25 2013, 11:26 AM) new boardwalk is the cheapest option for beginner that want to upgrade it to double chainring in future.. but then again biologic has gone off it.. why need double chainring? 7 speed is enough got the speeds these things are designed for. more speeds = more weight = less speed. foldies are for compact mobility not outright speed.buy the most bike u can afford, no sense upgrading a foldie, parts are expensive. |
