as rules of thumbs, ensure it is original paint. Check is there any leaking on engine and gearbox. Start the engine and let it idling, hold the steering to ensure there is no vibration. Switch on the aircon and ensure there is no rough noise when aircon kicks in. Open the oil cap, u should able to see a steel shinning inside the cam cover (if it's 20K as claimed). Drive to traffic and check the temperature. Bend down to check the underneath chassis.

Further to your friends remarks, he ever own a waja didn't he? Tell him that 3 years old E46 need to change hell alot of sensors as well. A condition of a car is very much depends on the owners, not the brand neither the model. My 2001 waja only changed 3 power windows, 1 set of absober, 1 set of engine mounting, 2 sets of tires, & 1 set of timing belt and that's all for 148K mileage.

For the price, i think it's very high. Even a used car is selling around RM40K-42K. Better to walk few shops bro.

go for metal type. The noise when cruising u're referring to is due to lack of metal part to conseal the noise from entering to cockpit. If u take a closer look the plastic power window panel is fully covering the entire door, while the metal panel is with alot of holes. What u can do is get a roll of sponge to covert he holes on the metal panel.
