I'm dropping by this evening. Need me to take a few pics and post it here on your behalf?

Yes, most definitely. Wear the suit and snap some outdoor street shots a la Sartorialist. Don't forget to do shameless GQ poses.

+1

Serge is a bad idea. kotmj's suggestions are good, and I'd also add hopsack to the shortlist.

Smoke MOP might be a bit more understated that brass or white MOP, if being invisible is desirable. Rhymes too!

Thanks gshen. Hopsack eh. Thanks for the advice kotmj and gents. I need to narrow down the material, and then get it if Mr. Loke Kwong Yuen doesn't have it in stock.

NP. I would look at Dugdale's options for something fairly priced and of good quality.

Cape Breeze and New Fine Worsteds in particular (2 books - the 89xx range has about 2000 shades of plain blues.) Cape breeze has more interesting shades of blue with some gray in it, and has just a wee bit of sheen.

Both gr8 for summer.

Let's start with that tie is hideous.

A little bird told me that ALT has some Dugdale books in his possession. Every tailor has his own eccentric requirements, so you'd best ask whoever is making you the jacket.

The dude on the left seems to be the best-dressed of the lot, IMHO. A darker tie might have been more apt, perhaps?

I dunno wat to say. Mo ngan tai. Everybody in that pic should just go hang themselves. KL needs to be rid of such monstrosities. This one pic captures the state of tailoring and of dressing in this country.

AL told me that Bespoked is not 100% owned by Ian. He said it is financially backed by a rich Malay datuk/tan sri who keeps a low profile. Maybe he is in that pic.

Added on August 30, 2010, 8:28 pmI was walking in a part of KL that is populated by Bangladeshi/Burmese workers. And right there in the middle of the inner city slum was a thrift shop run by a certain church. It's the first time I've seen a thrift shop in Malaysia.

I went in and immediately found a chambray 56% linen + 22% polyester + 22% viscose, black weft white warp Made in Italy EMPORIO ARMANI pants. Only 1" larger than my waist, but it is very roomy in the seat and through the legs. Nothing AL cannot fix. So happy to have found my gigolo pants, this thing is shiny!

RM30.

Added on August 30, 2010, 8:52 pmI also think I know now why people have such a visceral reaction to my suits. They are just heads and shoulders above what is normally made for people.

Added on August 30, 2010, 8:54 pmBTW the EA pants are no better made than any G2000 poly number.

No offence but,

1. Arent the trousers of the guy in the centre just a bit too long? MUCH too long actually.

2. And the guy on the left ... boot cut? bell bottoms?

3. 2nd from right - he got deflated or something? Why so baggy??

4. The one the right seems like he has trousers which go under to cover his heels! WOW!

5. 2nd from left: placement of his arms behind his back looks like it's stretching the jacket to bursting point. 3 buttons on him just don't look right to me.
