The lower the number the better. Disc Eject Time: This test measures the amount of time it takes, in seconds, for a player to fully eject the disc tray while playing a Blu-ray movie. The lower the number the better. Movie Load Time – Basic: Measures the amount of time, in seconds, that a player takes to load a film, encoded without Java or BD+, from the time the disc tray starts closing to the time that content appears on the screen. BD drive speed can impact this number. The lower the number the better. Movie Load Time - BD-J: Measures the amount of time a player takes, in seconds, to load a film, encoded with BD-Java, from the time the disc tray starts closing to the time that content appears on the screen. Movie Load Time – BD+: Measures the amount of time a player takes, in seconds, to load a film, encoded with BD+ copy protection, from the time the disc tray starts closing to the time that content appears on the screen. The following tests measure player's BD-Java graphics abilities. These numbers show how efficient the player will be at loading and navigating menus as well as Java based games. Hi everyone,
This has been posted in the Street Fighter IV thread and since the Collector's Edition features a full-length anime as a BD itself, here's something I'd like to share to the benefit of those getting the game. http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=22693858 Not sure if this has been posted, as I noticed most gamers would opt for candy rather than (IMHO) better freight-forwarding service, which is cheaper to boot. |

Ah dudes. anyone know whether apisgogo's bulk is still on? I can't seem to contact him.
Anyway, planning to upgrade better sound system this year. Anyone wanna let go of theirs in the 2k range I might be interested. HDMI inputs and outputs a must la, and all the DTS's necessary for me to appreciate AQ of blu ray. Lossless can get ah for that price? I like onkyo but someone said lousy support in malaysia. Also looking for surround speakers to replace my old one. |

finally got time to watch Resident Evil Apocalpse last nite,PQ and AQ not bad but storyline "chin chai" only.What suprise me is i saw Milla (.)(.) at final scene which i dun "realise" watching on durian dvd last time

just got back from klia...so shiok the filem fellas sit down watch my movie for screening test...
use blu ray player & lcd...fuh sedap his job... they r extremely sensitive to the word UNRATED on any movie...girl there say Underworld got frontal shots but still can pass... i think i will watch after this too they were watching kill bill 1 when i left... |

they actually printed out a list and stick on a wall...didnt walk in and c cause wanna buat muka kesian if anything happens...good luck chuck confirm kena tahan cause too much nudity...then haf to go putrajaya apply for permit, blah x3...i really didnt wanna know. so if buying those titles, then a word of advise, tumpang the sifus here.
i kena my parcel because of vpost but above rm500 lah... however, if ur parcel kena tahan by customs, PM me cause i got a number of a guy there, he say can 'tolong' take out... i know next time to call him rather than go thru the whole hassle for 3 hrs... |

finally watched Quantum of Solace.....the opening scene was very familiar that I had to google for it...turned out to be Lago Di Garda.....and that badly damaged Aston Martin would have to traveled hundreds of km to get to the 2nd scene in Siena...hehehe....

How do they snip out those unwanted segment and censor them (or can they) without destroying the original BD disc? If Speedy/HVN can import them, I think those shouldn't be a problem. They probably will just ban/confiscate those fall into their list of titles of undesirables that are considered outright PORN (example: Pirates 2 Stagnetti's Revenge).  Finally finished watching Band of Brothers. Man, I really got to tell ya all this is a must BD in your collection. The best World War II film/miniseries ever. It is so realistic with great AQ/PQ. Thank God I have never bought the DVD version. HBO's next project : The Pacific. It will be released this year so I can hardly wait for the BD version. |

I added 3 titles from the B2G1 this morning list to place order later today when it's on. But now when the offer is on, I see this in my cart:

i have made comparison between transformers blu ray and rip.. if u r watching on smaller screensize..there's almost no different on PQ.. AQ DD+ 5.1 ..

Only when you fit them onto the media + some encoding, then what do u get? Blu Ray movies and HD-DVD movies. Only HD-DVD died and Blu Ray come up tops. Anyone know how to tell a pirated BD from an original?
The only way I know how to tell is that BDs are translucent when looking at the underside of the disc whereas DVDs are always reflective. But what about writable BDs? Are they translucent as well? I just bought the Matrix Trilogy and the printing and main box material is questionable. Individual disc package however is fine. The discs are also translucent like all my other BDs and according to my PS3, they are all BDs. There is also a hologram sticker on the box. In fact, everything reassures me that they're not some pariah quality BDs...except the printing and main box material. I've also bought a number of BDs from this seller and I've been very happy with all of them. Is this just how the packing for The Matrix Trilogy is? |

Those who bought Polar Express 3D and Journey To The Center Of The Earth 3D please share your viewing experience. I have both, but both sucks to the max. After wearing the el-cheapo 3D glasses which came with the movie, all you see are red faces and green shadows with zero 3D effects. Followed viewing instructions to watch in darken room, still the same. Hope someone out there is having a better viewing experience.

The Center Of The Earth 3D seems better.
For example, the starting part, the brushing teeth part, blowing the flowers petals, flying fish part. My friends all love it. Polar? I didn't see any good part. Watching Bolt 3D in the cinema was such an amazing experience. Everything is sharp. With these 3D blu-rays, colors are so off. You're like watching a movie drunk. Lesson learned, never gonna get another BD with 3D - nothing but a gimmick.

Posted in Studios, US Releases on January 7th, 2009 by Dave  Warner has finally announced the Batman Anthology (1989 - 1997) for Blu-ray release, covering the Tim Burton and Joel Schumacher Batman movies.While Euroland appears to be getting single disc releases of these four titles, the US is getting them all in a box set - so no way to avoid the hideous movie Batman & Robin. Extras include over 18 hours of special features including documentaries from Directors Tim Burton and Joel Schumacher, deleted scenes and music videos! I never watch 3-D movies on home cinema format before, let alone Blu-ray. Is the experience good....
as good as watching at cinema? The best 3-D movie I've seen was Jaws 3D long2 time ago! Others were Disney's shorts at Euro Disney & in HK... oso one in Movieworld, Ozzie. Never seen any at local cinema yet. |

last night watched Paris, Je'taime...wonderful collection of 18 short films shot around Paris, individually directed by 18 diff directors. a bit on the artsy side but if one has been to Paris, this is a wonderful movie to watch to reminisce.

. Hope you can help me out since I may have made a big Boo Boo in buying BluRay disc…..I recently bought official PS3 from Sony 80gb and so kan cheong want to to test the BluRay disc……I bought some bluray from HMV UK i.e. Mama Mia (for me wifey aaa), Transformers and Pirates Box Set. . Only after that I noticed that they could be region lock… . So my question is, did I just wasted GBP75 or those BluRays can be played on my PS3????? I really hope the answer can be favorable since if not, really don’t know what to do with my Blurays…. . Thanks Gurus….. |

So it means it dosen’t matter where the BD are played i.e. which PS3 region???? . If this is the case then can rest easy for now, but never know when get the BD and test on the PS3……Anyone have brought from HMV UK (Region B) before and play it on Region A PS3???? Hope can help me to lay rest on my queries…..Buying in HMV is much cheaper since got 5 BD at around MYR400. If buy in KL then sure kena whack MYR750..so save around MYR350 leh…. . Btw, got some question as well, in the earlier thread there’s the rating of picture quality whereby Tier BD is the best i.e. similar to demo quality. Is there anyway to check the BD’s tier first prior buying? Are there any indication on the box or any comments if buy online? |

well i just have another package that was lost in transition. That make my count of lost package to 2. I have been buying from Amazon UK since last year. Have always been careful not to exceed the RM500 range so that i dont get into trouble with KEtam. I lost a package somewhere around Nov last year and other one in Dec. My order was shiped out on the 19th Dec and was suppose to reach on the 31st Dec. Havent received anything to date. I think either kena pao by the blu ray hungry posman or they send it to the wrong address. :S

There are many casualties lately, from the result of excess oxide in their homes - commonly at living room display racks. This is known as 'Blu-Steel Poisoning' - which causes many victims to look like this...

Some of my old Mat Salleh friends just dropped by. All were lucky to gain permit into Malaysia without hassle at the Immigresen.
John mentioned he is now retired, and managed to 'retire' a few people himself. Don't know what he meant by that.. I think it's a corporate takeover by his company in Burma. Jack was still his old witty self, and he said he moved to Port Klang - easier to find parking for his big car there. Did not know he even liked cars - jalan also mabuk all the time. Where can drink and drive? And I'm sure there's plenty of parking if he stayed in KL/PJ. He's here to visit some old DVD factory for some booty to bungkus home. Eric's always on the run but this time he stayed for a long time in my garden looking at some flowers. What a pansy! I will tease him later to see if he gets angry Tony, always the playful but smart guy, shared plenty of concern with Israel's invasion of Gaza City. He was following CNN closely on my TV but perhaps he's just interested in the welfare of his his skipping-rope factory there. How selfish... people are being killed and all he can think of are his own interests!  Bruce stood outside for sometime, as he was afraid to come in. I don't blame him for fearing my german shepherd, who is tame as a puppy. Scaredy-cat he is, he is an equally successful man as Tony. Both were engaged in tech-jibberish.. about the quality of rubber and metal materials, fast cars and gadgets. Jay is now a government worker. I really can't remember what he said last time... I seem to forget everything he tells me.. must be getting old We will still miss poor poor Andy, the final guy in our gang. Did not hear from him since the news that he's no longer in prison. And he was serving for life!. My prayers are always with him.. he suffered everyday and was always complaining about the kanasai warden and some bullies known as 'The Sisters'. Didn't even know that place was unisex. Overall, I am happy they paid me a visit. I hope to spend more time catching up with my friends, one by one. Megatron is errr... back.
Tested a bit of Journey To The Center Of The Earth. The colour problem may be due to the specs itself and the lack of double projector guns. Constantly noticing the green and red colours on the screen. Having said that, it is something 'new' at home. Not a very pleasant one but it's a good effort from Warner. OT : The QED SR-SW cable is rather 'clean' and tight. At that price, no complaint at all. Value buy indeed. |

Yesterday went to a coffee shop near my house and they were showing Red Cliff 2 on 100 inch screen. But the PQ is blur so i guess it's a pirate dvd.

Rewatched The Covenant last night. Storyline ok nia, PQ 3.5/5, AQ 4/5.
Must repeat the last fighting scene in the rain, brings out the 9.1 effect quite apparent. Btw meeting up jwyj for a massage session next sunday. anyone wanna join, hehe. |

I gave it 3.5 in PQ because of the 'grain' in some of the scenes. For me, a HD movie should be able to see each and every line of a person's wrinkles on his/her face and able to count every eye lash. Example: The POTC trilogy.

hi guys... anyone know of a great aquarium BD one which can turn our TV into a gorgeous aquarium?
I went and bought one, called HD moods - Aquarium but the fish is fake wan.. like in screensaver so... tak siok. if u guys know of a great one to show off the display unit capability... pls share. Cheers.. |
