im new to all this updating but i want to update my nokia e71, can anyone give me a step by step of how to do it please.
i have msn if it'll be easier to help me that way.

2) Download Nokia Updater...

Try first, if cant then see how...

i already have nokia software updater, byt when i plug my phone into my laptop and open up the nokia software updater, it tells me there is no updates but im sure there is because i have had my phone about 3 months now and it has not been updated at all.

open your phone casing there should a shinning sticker tell us whats written on it

want to install the Garmin Mobile XT now, just follow the tutorial of the 1st page then ok d?

should be ok since a few member did actually managed to installed it by following the steps stated in the 1st page..but mind you, you need to find the keygen yourself..go google it..

open you back cover, take off the battery..there should be a sticker on it..if you see a hologram sticker means that your set must be an avaxx or zitron set which is original set from nokia..if not, its an AP set..this thread explain more about Original set and AP set Click Me!

erm the black edition seems is just darker grey.. almost cant tell any diff from grey steel from the angle n light source

The version 5.00.20 have a bug that can cause battery drain. Some forumer advise to use older version other like 5.00.10 or 4.00.20

it does not apply to us. I got my phone from 3 as well mate and sad to say those fellas have yet to release any update for our phones. Ours is a 3 branded firmware and flashing it will void your warranty. Its Ok if you do it elsewhere, but in Australia the operators are cracking down on those who change your product code and reflash their firmware, because lots of ppl are buying these subsidized phones, reflashing them and selling it off or taking it to another country...and how are they going to find out? well, all nokia phones have an encrypted memory that notes down all the changes you make to it.
