QUOTE(enkeirp01 @ Jan 20 2009, 09:38 PM) Why don't you do it yourself? It's so easy and takes like 10 mins for the jailbreaking and unlocking. All steps and tutorial are here and simple to follow. If you still not confident to do it yourself then look for hanxz. It's your money so it's your choice. |

there is nothing realy to worry about. if anything goes wrong, you can easily restore it and try again.
where you find them? google... actualy there are three steps, first you upgrade to firmware2.2, if your not already on it, jailbreak your new firmware then you add the yellowsn0w repo to either cydia or installer http://www.coderetard.com/2009/01/01/how-t...are-yellowsn0w/ the link i posted is a little old, the current version of yellowsn0w is 0.9.6 I think but the steps should be the same, you wont have to do things like removing your sim if they say that you should in the tutorial, I think you might just need to reboot or toggle the airplane mode This post has been edited by waggygee: Jan 21 2009, 09:56 AM |

For the locked 3g version, its not advicable to upgrade to 2.28 baseband for unlock. There are many error and problems reported everyday (in forum) after some of the users upgrade and unlock. Might be wise to wait for the next release of yellowsnow before moving to 2.28 baseband. (my opinion) Actually there are some custom-defined firmware of 2.2 with the previous baseband available. I would suggest to stay with 2.1 firmware's baseband till the better unlock patch is released (just my opinion).

chizzu, my wife phone after yellow snow, back to london, can use back with O2 card, but kenot access 3G, even after uninstalling yellosnow
then call up O2, says no problem with sim, so O2 transfer to apple, apple says her sim card expired so end of the day brought it to an O2 shop, wihtout restoring the JB iphone, but un install yellowsnow, CS ask my wife, did you do something to the phone? |

I agree... there were some issues before but with the new version I have never experienced any difficulty |

those problems are unable to receive sms, could not retrieve call even tho signal is on, could not use edge, and miscellaneous.
Yea, inevitably there are some users which able to unlock without any difficulties so far, but theres some experiencing these annoying problems. what im suggesting is a very conservative measurement in dealing with the 2.28 baseband. |
