QUOTE(Edoras @ Jan 5 2009, 04:31 PM) dzerg - Just to double check with your own 3G simcard lah and see whether it works or not since you said, that you can receive 3G signal with your phone. Maybe something wrong with his 3G simcard. ParaOpticaL - My iPhone 3G is a USA set and I can use 3G and EDGE... Mine is also an iphone 3G 16GB from USA and I can use celcom's 3G. As a matter of fact, the 3G signal is much stronger when i compare with the signal using the now-obsolete-gevey turbosim.

I do agree with Stamp, the 3G signal is now much better. But maybe this is due to th latest Baseband and firmware 2.2.

May I suggest to those who have successfully "yellowsn0'ed" their iPhone 3G to give some of their unlocking tips and see which "pattern" that works best.

JB follow this -> http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=1881Unlock use Installer, because Cydia not work for me. After install yellowsn0w from Installer, Reboot, Wait, no response, turn to plane mode and on it again. Might work.

As for my experience yellowsn0w-ing iphones, one thing, the most important thing that one must have is PATIENCE... For me yellowsn0w-ing my colleague's iphone is really tedious..u have to try a lot of methods (i dont know anyone out there who just got lucky successfully yellowsn0w-ed an Iphone on the first try) before seeing some bar of carrier line appeared on top of the Iphone. PATIENCE BRING SUCCESS heuheuheu.. Happy yellowsn0w-ing!!

actually i forgot which steps i took. I was a little panicky after a while of not working.
I remember doin a lot stuffs to activate yellowsn0w.
Took me i think about 4 - 5 hours to experiment the different settings that you guys mention.
But like everyone is saying...PATIENCE is the word. Trial and Error i guess....hehe
Good luck to others that plan to yellowsn0w. Dev Team Rocks la...
