First thing u shud do go test those frags u can redeem. Other ppl's opinions don't really matter coz u r going to wear the frag.

When u r free go to a mall n test frags. Parkson@Pavilion is a good place as there is a lot of variety there. don't test too many at once and try to test on skin instead of those paper strips. Once u have narrowed down your list maybe u can post it here and we can give feedback in terms of sillage and longevity. Don't limit yourself to common brands like CK, Amani and Hugo Boss. There r plenty of other brands like YSL, Cartier and Guerlain out there that have really good unique frags.

Very Briefly,

polo black ralph lauren - horrible. short lasting n weak.

armani code giorgio armani - kinda powdery but not overpowering...very versatile. I like this one. longevity n sillage is pretty average.

euphoria men calvin kelin - very smooth with a hint of frutiness. longevity n sillage is terrible.

DKNY, be delicious - fresh n fruity...loved by teenage boys everywhere. again sillage n longevity is terrible.

Burberry touch for men - powdery n flowery and can be a little overpowering if u r used to wearing CK n DKNY frags. But a pretty good frag nonetheless. sillage n longevity is good.

If I had to choose from those 5 frags, i'll go with either Touch or Code. But that's just me wink.gif

^^^ is my own personal opinion. pls go n test them out on skin n decide which one u like the best.
*
if it's me, my pick would be as same as jonny. however, i still think u can try DKNY be delicious if u are in early 20s and if you are the type of "clean and tidy" kind of guy. anyway it's up to you. choose whichever suits u best. good luck bro tongue.gif

try 1 million by Paco Rabbane. very sweet...

For something you can use for both (work and casual) try Le Male fro Jean Paul Gaultier. though the top note can be annoying. (smell like medicine).

Personally, I love Bulgari house. Their AQVA is awesome. So does their pour homme soir but I would recommend bulgari pour homme extreme as I see alot people like that.

Just throwing some fragrances that might suit you.

hey guys, i just gotten some tester 1ml vial for kenzo tokyo and ST dupont le intensse, burberry sports for men , dior fahrenheit intense, dior eau sauvage intense ...will let you know of the result...

as what jonny had said, different people has different view/scent on perfume..
i find that r.l polo black is a safe to wear perfume, i.e in office,dates,meeting..fresh scent, it is not really low sillage, it is abit of a sneaky perfume, it will come back to live once your body heats up, i got a fellow male colleague thinks it is a nice perfume( straight men) honest compliment, not bragging or made up like some of other forums..

armani code - nice perfume, old school type..
others cant really comment..

jonny, i've tested rive gauche, it is slightly on the heavy / clouding scent, gives me the memories of the 80's..at the same time i tested live jazz as well, it is on the minty brew tea scent, can thinkn of having it as a collection..

tjwn - jpg le male is a love or hate scent, the dry down is quite sweet scent.. you can try a slightly tone down version - jpg le male terrible...
i have a le male, it is a gift from my mum many years back, at first it is really powerful... after 9years the juice is still powerful but slightly toned down...

some of my perfume dated back more than 5 years does not have the top notes, straight to middle or base notes, i.e hugo boss green edition -
calvin klien eternity - doesnt have the sillage power anymore.. surpisingly le male after more than 9 years it is still ok..

Both totally different. Le Male has a very strong powdery vanilla dry down that smells synthetic. Nevertheless Le Male is still a very good frag with insane sillage and longevity. One of the guys above recommended Le Male for work...that's possible but only if u use 1 or 2 sprays...in an enclosed environment u definitely won't want to let Le Male loose LOL. It's probably more of a casual/clubbing type of frag.

I pretty sure it's called Fahrenheit Absolute. But yeah i'll be waiting eagerly for your take on it as it's not available in Msia yet. But I could be wrong as I hardly ever go frag testing nowadays.

Rive Gauche even though released in 2003 has that 80s feel to it but slightly toned down...all thanks to Tom Ford. Which one u getting ? Live Jazz or Rive Gauche ?

i went to Sogo..i swear its the best place to go hunting for frags...sogo is the nearest to my place how could i have not noticed it in the first place

tested 4 frags

1. chanel antaneous (sumthing like that)- this is worn by uncle . fathers...i dont see myself wearing this even for the next 15 years...it smells cloying i guess moderation is key here
2 chanel egoiste (the original)..- nice frag id say..not too sure if it can be worn in the office...it smells very distinctive too..might give it a go
3. paco rabbane one million- sweet but i cant make out what the notes are.......
4. pacco rabbane xs- wah ..im so getting this one tongue.gif rosy, sweet just perfect for a night out..my concern however is whether ppl wont mistakethis as some cheap Rm20 and less frag u find in guardian coz it doesnt smell alcoholic or expensive..or maybe its me

Im surprised really that sogo does stock stella mccartney, and banana republic(there r a few other varieties),,im gonna again sometime this week to lurk around and test anymore...

so ive decided a night out frag..now im looking for office frag...theres this smell i keep remembering..some teenager wore it on the LRT, its citrusy but its sweet...just a right concoctioon i think

Antaeus is really hard to wear in hot weather. I've got a bottle but rarely do I reach for it. It is somewhat cloying for a while but once it dries down it gets really smooth. Prob is in our hot weather even at night, the moment I sweat Antaeus comes back with a vengeance.

Egoiste is perfect for the office as its not very agressive but at the same time its distinctive. I didn't like it at first but after a few wearings it became one of those frags that I use when I can't think of anything else to wear.

Yes I admit that XS does give off that cheapo deodorant vibe. What to do it came out around the time of Eternity n Platinum Egoiste. So all the deos tend to have that smell. XS is another one perfect for the office as it is fresh n light but has decent sillage n longevity without going overboard.

Citrusy n sweet = most common type of frag in the market...even beats aquatics. give Solo Loewe a try as I feel it is one of the best n most versatile frags out there. Davidoff Silver Shadow Altitude, Hermes Concentre d'Orange Verte and Clinique Happy for Men are among the better citrusy frags out there. But as usual these citrus based frags tend to be short lasting with light sillage. Though Solo Loewe ain't exactly a citrusy frag.

Also did u try Chanel Pour Monsieur ? it has an old man vibe to it but it can work well for the office. CPM is my frag of choice for formal occasions where scent needs to be politely discreet. other than CPM... Dunhill Edition, Versace The Dreamer, Prada Infusion d'Homme, Mugler Cologne and a few more r my staple frags for work.
BTW, did u spot YSL and Guerlain counters at Sogo ?

I have an excellent recommendation,
try Chanel Allure or Chanel Allure sport.
Chanel Allure sport has the citrus scent and fresh scent. perfect for hot day use.

Hey guys,
1 question, if given choice for formal event scent, which would you choose,
Bulgari Pour Homme Soir,
JPG Le Male,
D&G he One Gentleman.

note: I am in my early 20s.

I would go with Bulgari Pour Homme Soir...it doesn't scream "I want attention" like Le Male or generic like Gentleman. Guys your age would probably douse themselves with the usual aquatics and citrus frags. So Soir will definitely make u stand out but discretely and politely.

BTW, no matter what frag u use, don't apply too much on exposed skin. Less is more when it comes to formal events.

haha.. I already own Soir. love it to end of my life.
But couple of my frens said the basenote is too mature( musky) for me.
smell like the old guys.

Thats why planning to buy another bottle.

Also problem with Soir is bad sillage.

Can you recommend any other scent with good tea note.

Your friends are probably addicted to aquatic frags that y anything remotely woody or musky is considered "old man". Soir is not "old" at all...im 28 and I find it rather youthful...but I like mature smelling frags.

U won't need much sillage in formal events. Unless u want to be the spiky haired douchebag that's a bit heavy handed with the frag application. LOL just joking.

Bulgari Black is another one with a nice tea note. Tea is Bulgari's signature note. But haven't seen a tester in malls lately.

Gucci Pour Homme II has a prominent tea note too. But sillage is kinda weak too.

There is Code for women and for Men. They both smell different. Ur fried is probably misinformed. But nothing wrong with a man wearing a female frag.

I like Code a lot but it's nothing unique or outstanding fragrance wise. AdG is too common. But yes both will be suitable for an early 20s male like yourself.

But if a Man using female won't feel weird? or kinda feminine? =.=
Later ppl would say " hey! u using your mother/gf fragrance is it? "

Im actually quite confusing over armani code seriously.
I see quite some good feedback/comment about code.
When im about considering to buy it, my fren told me that's a female fragrance....
I see some seller in LYN who selling fragrance. some of the seller categorize armani code in men category, but some in women...they didn't state clearly...

Is there any exact name for men 1? i mean armani code.

Please clear my doubt.

Thanks.

Satisfied ? U could have easily googled it.

I use a few woman frags...no one ever made any comments that I am using my mum/gf frag.
