Girls just want a nice sweet scent on their boys you know? Nothing too aggressive. BTW my MD wore Kouros once when i standing next to him during a software demo.

I almost pulled the trigger on Bulgari Black just now. But damn, my focus this month is on bespoke shirts and trousers, not perfume.

So your statement "Girls just want a nice sweet scent on their boys you know?" is it based on some kind of concrete empirical evidence or are you just making a gross generalization based on years and years of pop culture and mass media brain washing ?

I do not agree one bit with your statement btw.

It's based on empirical feedback from an admittedly limited group of girls in their 20s (of different nationalities).

Added on March 8, 2010, 7:42 pmAnyway, my next perfume (dark, sophisticated, complex) is for me, not for them. A way of exerting masculinity instead of pandering to female preferences (D. Coolwater).

I've gotten compliments from women of various ages ( I cast a wide net) on frags that I never knew would appeal to them biggrin.gif Kouros, Aramis, Chanel Egoiste and Gucci Pour Homme are just some of the frags I have gotten compliments on. These frags are a far cry from the sweet frags that are getting more and more common nowadays.

So what does your female focus group say about the age old debate of "boxers vs briefs" ?

That's the way to go as at the end of the day a frag is all for yourself.

If you want dark and sophisticated, I still say Lalique Encre Noire or Bulgari Black would be 2 good choices for you. Although BB doesn't smell very black to me haha. Personally Encre Noire epitomizes what a dark fragrance is supposed to be like.

It's available at MJ BB Plaza, Isetan KLCC, and Robinsons the last time I checked..around end of last year. Parkson Pavilion might have it. Locating a tester is hard as only MJ BB Plaza has a tester...but that was in Sept last year so the situation might have changed.

I went to MJ BB to smell Lalique Encre Noire but they do not stock Lalique. A saleswoman there has never heard of it.

Went to Pavilion and bought, on a whim, a small bottle Kouros. It still smells weird, but maybe I'll warm up to it.

I'm 22 and I'm quite new to using frags. I have

1) Polo Blue
2) YSL L'Homme

To all the seasoned frag users here, what can I add to my arsenal here? I different taste from both of the aforementioned frags perhaps.

jasmine, clove and oakmoss is too strong of a combo for me. It really smells odd on my body so i guess its just not for me sad.gif but yeah you'll find out after 2-3 full wearings.

Difficult to give u suggestions with so little knowledge about your taste.

Between the two frags u own, which do u prefer and why ?

Last September they had these glass display cupboards in MJ BB full of Encre Noire. I think I saw about 10 bottles of various sizes on display and I even tested it there...I liked EN but the RM230 price tag put me off. Other places like Isetan KLCC and Robinsons do have EN on sale but I think no tester.

Congrats on Kouros rclxms.gif but I though u would end up buying Bulgari Black haha. You have good taste and balls of steel LOL. Not many would buy it on a whim. 2-3 full wearings won't be sufficient to judge a frag even worse over a short period of time like a week. It took me probably 15 full wearings of Kouros over a period of 6 months before I appreciated and eventually love it. I won't be surprised if initially Kouros will be too overpowering and maybe even disgusting. My advice is not to wear it daily and space out on the times u wear Kouros. No more than twice a week LOL. But if u like it then wear it as often as u like.

Tried Dior Fahrenheit the other day. Apparently there are a few types, Absolute, and 32? Whichever was the one i tested the other day, it was goood. smile.gif Manly, citrus-y, kinda sour smell. Definitely my next catch. Davidoff Adventure smells really good too. Any ideas on its longevity and sillage?

On another note, Burberry Sport is out. First thing that came to me when the saleslady spray it on me was "GINGER, OH LORD THE GINGER!". It really smelt bad to me. sad.gif But after quite some time, an hour or two i reckon, it smelt pretty good to me, very Burberry-ish. Perhaps the connoisseurs here could shed more light on the frag once they've tested it.

oooh the absolute is here! jonny would be estatic lol

Farenheit 32 has a creamy vanilla note to it. The original Farenheit has a petrol-like scent thanks to the violet.

I havent tried Adventure or Sport yet tho. maybe sometime tongue.gif

OMG Absolute ? Where did u test Fahrenheit Absolute ? The Parkson 1U counter doesn't have it yet..
Fahrenheit (original) is really one of a kind...very unique. No problems in terms of longevity and sillage. If you do get it make sure u keep a look out for the gift sets. Mine came with a leather toiletry bag, deodorant spray, shower gel and a 50ml EDT..all for RM180+. I don't like 32 as the vanilla and florals are too overpowering.

Davidoff Adventure does smell nice but it's famous for being short lived with very little sillage.

I have not tested Burberry Sport yet but maybe this weekend I will.

No harm done hehe...I can't wait for Absolute to come here. There are more than 3 types of Fahrenheit http://www.basenotes.net/company/100181
However only 32 and the original Fahrenheit is available here.
Nothing beats the original one.
